Lunch was good and the staff was attentive; readily seated, lemon water available; first served a small salad; then hot and sour soup; the meal came quickly. Had green beans with chicken and fried rice. Green beans were cooked perfectly and tasty. Thin slices of chicken with sauce were also good; fried rice was a tad bit dry but good flavor. Overall, happy with the meal. Also tried my daughter's sweet-and-sour chicken, which was also good.
Order Through Doordashed, food came well packaged. Salt and Pepper Pork Chop were really good. As for the sweet n sour, I wish they put more sauce. Would have been nice to have some spring rolls instead of a Salade (salade dressing 🥜 is tasty) . Maybe add that option or soup 😊.
Yan's China Bistro & Bar is a standard American Chinese restaurant. The restaurant caters to the American taste. The bar is the highlight of the restaurant. We had high expectations when we went to dine at this restaurant. The ratings were 4.5. After dining we thought it was over rated. The food was bland and tasteless. Maybe we ordered the wrong food. Please try this restaurant and determine for your self. The service was exceptional and the food was served hot.
Best Chinese food in Pleasant Hill. Food is tasty and delicious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Been going here for 20 years and food is consistently good. Green beans with pork is my favorite. Easy parking in back of restaurant.
We had a great time at Yan's! The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I really loved the fried rice!
Excellent food and service. The menu has so many great options.
Disappointing Chinese food. Had hoped for more in the Bay Area. Maybe I should have tried something in San Francisco itself. Had the Mongolian beef which was almost tasteless and the spicy tofu - what a joke - spicy??? It was pretty much as tasteless as the Mongolian beef. I had to ask for chili paste to spice it up. Best part of the meal was probably the white rice. Would not return here. The photo may make it look good, but don't be fooled.
Went there for the first time with my brother-in-law and his wife not knowing what to expect. It was around 5 and they were just opening for dinner. Plenty of parking in the back, off the street. Walking in from the back you walk past the galley and see several chefs furiously working their woks, preparing some of the nights features over roaring gas flames. The decor is like you'd expect, somewhat dark, but we were seated in the empty bar station where there was still some daylight sneaking in. Service was prompt and attentive. We ordered some apps and they came in minutes. Our hosts had been before so we let them order for the table. I'm sorry that I can't be specific about what each dish was, but I can say every serving we had seemed better than the one before. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The food was as good as any Chinese food I've ever had. Every bite was singing with flavor and was outstanding. We will back.
