A bit disappointed in this one. Staff is good and friendly. Building is clean an food comes quickly at a good price. Had parking on location. Tables were outdoors and the whole restaurant smelled of smoked meat making for a great atmosphere. The ribs I got were a bitty fatty but tender enough. Cornbread was heavenly. Warm, soft and fresh without chunks of corn in it. Sauce was really tasty.

Had some really good BBQ here. Definitely worth attending just several other BBQ experiences rank well above it in my experience. Price is fair and service was very good. Great music and nice outdoor seating.

This place is absolutely amazing! All the types of meat 🍖 that we had were absolutely delicious and well made! Sauces and serving was great! Service is quick and friendly. And ambience outdoors is really nice on a lovely day. Will be coming back for sure

My new favorite BBQ place. Service was fast. The food yummy yummy. Definitely I’ll be back. We had Rochester Mills draft beer.

I’ve been periodically visiting the Woodpile since they opened 5+ years ago. I think the quality of BBQ has somewhat decreased over time. For Michigan, it’s still quite good. But it doesn’t compare to some of the best that I’ve had across the country or what I smoke at home. If you live in the area and don’t have a stick burner, this is decent. If you’re smoking on a pellet smoker, this is probably better than what you make at home. The service is weird. It’s never been exceptional, but I had a very awkward experience on this visit. They used to serve take out from a different window than dine-in. And it’s been that way since they opened. But this year, they switched it up. That’s cool. But they were pretty hostile when I walked in the newly minted “employees only” door.

Stopped in for a quick bite while visiting Detroit. Food and staff were great! Had the 3 meat dinner!

Tried this BBQ spot for the first time and was thoroughly impressed! The patio seating area was well heated and the tables all had 4 different BBQ sauce selections. Ordering your food is easy and then they bring it out to you. The service was friendly and fast! I ordered the pulled pork, St. Louis ribs, Mac and cheese, beans, and cornbread. Everything tasted delicious and the beans had a kick I liked. I especially loved the char on the ribs and pulled pork. Also-Loved the bread crumbs on the Mac and cheese too. There is also a cool beer selection! Definitely going to be coming back to this tasty spot.

Great spot! Enjoyed the food. Burnt ends, brisket sweet potato mash were great. sauces are good. All the meats were perfectly cooked. Not liked the chicken much.
