If you find yourself visiting Watsonville and your hungry, stop by this little bar/restaurant and be prepared to have a great meal. There is plenty to choose from no matter how pickey your crew is, and the serving size is huge.
This is a hidden gem. This restaurant has a great welcoming environment. My boyfriend and I ordered the rib eye steak meal. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. The food and service were excellent. We shall me coming back to this place again when we head this way.
Food was great and server was nice. I think they were understaffed. A few loud people made it noisier than it needed to be. That said, fish and chips was great, coleslaw was amazing, I'd definitely go back and recommend the place
The Wooden Nickel has the best Club Sandwich that I’ve ever had, and I owned a sandwich shop for six years 😂 I come here every year and make a beeline for the Wooden Nickel. Renee is THE GOAT!
Looks like a good spot. Unfortunately for me. I got here at 9:00 pm thinking I was going to have a steak. No dinner past 8:00 pm.
Great dive bar with great tasting food that comes in large portions. You won't leave hungry. Have a drink while your at it. They have a full bar
This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat. Food is so ferociously delicious!!! Highly recommend, Nickel Burger, open face skirt steak sandwich, turkey sandwich is fresh chunks of real turkey OMG! But what I ALWAYS get when I come here is the Bay Shrimp salad. It's loaded, and so bomb! I miss that they don't add salad noodles anymore, but it's still very, very good!!! And can't forget the chocolate cake that comes with every order, it's so moist and yummy!! Now the service: they get very busy so the service is slow on occasion but it's so worth the wait!!! And all the staff are so friendly and nice and rushing around to ensure everyone is taken care of. This is a must try!
I got the French Dip sandwich and nickel burger. The French dip was amazing packed with favor. The Nickel burger has bacon, mushroom, avocados, and spouts. It was the best burger I tried in awhile. I tried my friend skirt steak and it was medium and very juicy. I will be returning to try more on the menu.
