We enjoyed a delicious seafood meal at Wintzell’s Oyster House. Great service, delicious food, and affordable prices. We ordered the oyster sampler consisting of 5 each of 3 differently prepared oysters. We also got the broiled seafood J.O. platter that comes with 2 skewers of shrimp, fish, scallops, oysters, and two sides. More than enough for two to share. Will definitely stop again on our next trip.

My girlfriend and I stopped to eat at Wintzell’s this evening. We travel the country weekly and try new places that seem to be hot spots in the areas we are in. We were on our towards Mobile, AL when we come across Wintzell’s on Google. Wasn’t sure if we could get in because we are truck drivers. To our surprise there was a big parking lot across from them. So if you drive truck and want good food outside of the standard garbage they serve in truck stops. We highly recommend this place to fellow drivers. The place was clean, friendly and fast. We ordered the fried green tomatoes with a crawdad sauce. It was over the top with flavor!!!! Our entrees was the fried JO with a loaded baked potato and collard greens. Again the flavors were great. The fried catfish well…it left a lot to be desired. Not sure if it was undercooked, overcooked or just a couple bad pieces that slipped through quality control. Service was great so make sure you go in and ask for Shea. Definitely A+. We would definitely stop back here if ever back in the area.

Don’t waste your money. I will never return. What a rip off. Not sure what they are doing but the oysters appeared to be pieces of oysters. As you can see in the pictures the 4 pieces of oyster that were each individually fried. Look at all the breading which was off about 8-10 of the pieces on the plate. The plate had maybe 12 pieces on the plate, the fried okra, and I had a garden salad and a Sprite…$36 before the tip…what a joke. Not one of these oysters was a decent size oyster. Captains Ds does a better job. Now the salad was a decent size and the okra was good. The server Jesse, very nice and on her game. She was very polite. But, management…you should be ashamed of yourself. No, I did not speak to a manager: I am not seeking a free meal nor do I enjoy or appreciate patronizing responses. Just do the right thing and quit ripping off the customer. I won’t be back.

I had the Red Fish and it was grilled hard on the outside and the inside was undercooked. Never received my salad. Couldn't get the server's attention. The restaurant has a good vibe but I just don't know with the service.

Friendly, fast service. Awesome food! Great atmosphere and clean facilities.

I have eaten inside this restaurant a couple of times, but mostly I order takeout since I travel through Greenville frequently. Although the takeout orders initially were top-notch, the last two have not been. And the one I picked up tonight was very substandard. I was very specific with my order, but when I arrived it was not correct. I had to wait for it to be corrected. I got the shrimp basket with sweet potato fries. The fries were old, soggy and not hot. The shrimp tasted like it was old, also. And the two hush puppies that were included were dry and hard. I ordered this food at 5 o’clock, so regular dinner time. And I only had to travel a few blocks so the food should’ve been hot when I arrived back at my hotel room. I’m very disappointed. Because unlike sitting in the restaurant, you cannot send the food back and request fresh, hot food. It was a fairly expensive dinner, but not a good one. I hate to think that the restaurant sends the old food out with takeout orders.

We had to stop by this gem on Google maps on the way home, and very glad we did . Oysters are fresh and not salty at all! The shrimp and grits were nice and hot . Great wings and the seafood pasta was great also. Service was fast and friendly . Looking for a last stop of great seafood .. this will be your spot !

Excellent food and very nice waitstaff. It was very noisy in the side room, due to the echo of the room, and a party of about 15 people. I was going to ask to be moved, but the main area was still a little noisy because of the music. Having a whole family of noise-sensitive people, I'd opt for carryout or making sure it wasn't busy. Those who like that atmosphere would be happy as a clam at busy times.
