User Reviews

Recently I made the unfortunate decision to visit the White House Grill for dinner. I made this choice after reading many positive reviews. I myself had driven by the restaurant growing up, and always wanted to try it. Upon being seated, I began to have doubts as the lighting and decor were in poor taste and the overall atmosphere was dingy and dark. We started with French onion soup, Fried Lamb meatballs and the Sarmisak dip. Of which the meatballs were burnt and the soup was tasteless. The baguettes that came with the dip were as hard as rock, thank goodness we asked for half pita bread. Things were not off to a good start. We then ordered the Mixed grill and Chicken Rome entrees. What we experienced as disappointment in the appetizers turned into disgust as our entrees were on another level of terrible. The shrimp in the mixed grill were as rubber, the lamb was dry and the fish was underwhelming. The Chicken Rome was so overcooked it was inedible. Both entrees came with a side of asparagus that was so drenched in oil and oversalted they were not fit for human consumption. At this point we hoped against hope that the dessert at least could perhaps save the night. Never were we so disappointed. What should have been the culmination of a good dinner was just another nail in the coffin of our experience. The baklava looked as if it was thrown onto the plate, the small square of pastry was not even centered on the dish, with crumbs and oil drops all over. The first bite revealed it be old, as oil was pooling around the base, and the top layer came off altogether when I tried to take a bite. It was stale. After making this attempt at a good night out we were wholly disheartened by our experience and our fallen hopes. This has been by far the worst restaurant experience I have endured in the Post Falls/CDA area. I will not be returning. I would also highly recommend anyone thinking of visiting this establishment not to waste their time or money.

The food here is sooo good. Definitely a must-visit spot in Coeur d'Alene if you're a garlic-lover. I had the sea bass, lamb, and prawns over garlic rice with garlic green beans and it was DELICIOUS. We also split the garlic dip and it was crazy good. Oh, and my lavender cocktail was fantastic. I highly, highly recommend this place. Service was good too, especially with it being such a busy Friday night. Reservations recommended.

The goat meatballs are fantastic and so is the garlic bread. I had the chicken fettuccine and it did not disappoint. I think they forgot about us cause people that came after us had their food way before us. But it was a SUPERB meal.

Best food I’ve had in a very long time and our server was so friendly and bubbly!! Love this place

Food and service always fabulous. Love the owner who is 100% authentic. Great martinis. Get the "Orange 24". The fried feta is AMAZING and you will never in your life have better sea bass and rice than at The White House. The rice pudding is to die for! If you don't like garlic just get a salad I guess because there's A LOT of garlic.

Well, they didn't lie! The food here has garlic! Lots of it, haha. And if you don't mind having garlic breath for a bit, I think you'll enjoy it too! Greek plate was very good and very flavorful. Enjoyed all the food and even made some space for dessert! Gotta love the mouth wash in the restroom. Good idea😄

I visited The White House Grill on 9thJuly23. Had already studied the menu online before visiting it's of much help, trust me in this one. You'll find it difficult to choose from the wide variety menu! To begin with we ordered the (Meze) Sarmisak and Turkish cigars along with drinks President & Heidini. I really wanted to try the calamari but they were out by then already since it was 9pm and the restaurant shuts by 10pm. Heidini which is coconutty was top notch. We ordered Blackened salmon (salmon was just perfect) and the White House classic Turkish plate (rare lamb meat on a bed of delicious grainy flavorful rice along with grilled veggies) as the mains. Although I was warned it's rare meat but I wanted to try so it was okay for me but the rice was belissimo 🤌🏼 Salmon I could go on eating every single day! :) We had to wait for 20 minutes to secure a table. Also please try securing to dine out, especially on a breezy day. It's just totally worth it !

First time visiting, and we’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Post Falls. Our waitress, Brittany, was friendly and attentive to our party of 8. The appetizers (fried feta and calamari) were perfectly prepared. The French onion soup is the best I’ve ever tasted. The curry chicken sandwich was amazing, as well. In spite of how full we were (many of us took leftovers home for dinner!), we shared some tiramisu, and it was delicious. Don’t forget to add a glass (or bottle) of Raci's red wine!
