I'm so glad The Shack has survived the scourge that COVID has inflicted upon the restaurant industry. I had a not-great experience here 6 years ago and decided not to come back for a good while. Well, upon my return i can say that their game has come back better than ever. Service, food, drinks, all top notch. A truly great neighbourhood experience.

I'm from out of town working and wanted tacos and found THE SHACK. Yes it is good and homemade food it is a must that people eat here. Compliments to the chief because damn. I will be back before I leave. Thanks to you all absolutely wonderful 😊.

This was my second time coming here. Their beer selection has a lot of IPAs. A lot of patio seating, indoor seating is small. I love that dogs are welcome here. Onion rings were on point! I ordered the nutty burger, it was okay, came with steak fries. My boyfriend enjoyed his burger, which was a bacon burger.

I stopped by a few weeks ago to eat lunch while waiting for my Mini to be serviced across the street at Frank’s Automotive. All the staff were cheerful and so attentive, even during the lunch time rush! I had the breakfast sandwich with eggs, cheese and avocado. I don’t remember the name of it, but it was delicious! The French Fries were some of the best I have tasted in a long time! They were like steak fries and actually tasted like real potatoes. I will be back!

I've only been here a couple times prior and know it was a Sacramento staple, but kudos for keeping the general vibe the same but adding more tacos and margaritas to the menu. I had a shrimp taco and el pastor and OHHHH BOY they were 🔥🔥🔥

This might be my favorite place to eat and drink in Sacramento. It's part of an urban food oasis and across the street from another East Sac mainstay in Socal's. The beer selection is always a great mix of local (and potent!) offerings, and the extensive beer list contains a variety of tasty Belgians. But did I mention the food?!? Try the Shack Dip if it's your first time, but you really can't go wrong with any of the food. Try the onion rings as a side. Trivia on Thursdays and live music on the weekends make this a true gem in East Sac.

It's a relaxed place to go after work. Their Happy Hour is from 2 p.m. - 5p.m. They make there tortillas & chips from scratch, which are yummy!

Loved it! Great food, excellent service. Would definitely return.
