Great breakfast and amazing service. They really make you feel like you are at home and the food tastes like it too! Good portions, you will not leave hungry. The potatoes are amazing and the cornbread is downright delicious. We recommend this place to any one that will listen.

OMG, I love my black own businesses. The food was delicious, The music was on point it made me enjoy my food more. I felt like I was at home surrounded by my family. Everyone was friendly from the employees to the customers. And I love the positive poster hanging on the wall

First time back in like 6-7 years and still enjoy it! The catfish was so fresh and tender, and tasty (bit too salty for me but it’s personal taste). The fried chicken always do the job for me. This time I got green beans and had to order an extra one. The green beans really reminded me of Luby’s green beans. The service was impeccable. Also the added satisfaction of supporting local small business versus the big chain.

Pro: 15-20 min wait on weekdays for a booth table! Sweet greeter and waiter Fast turnaround for food Good menu explanation Options for beef turkey ham for sausages Cons: Weekend wait times won’t get you a seat guarantee I would return and recommend the place! Ordered the spooner bkfast, pancakes and spoon dish! Potatoes were excellent!!!! As was eggs, coffee and pancakes! Brought my friend from Canada here and she loved 🥰 it , true 1955 experience!!

The experience was great, the servers where so polite. The food was AMAZING!!! EVERYTHING WAS HOT, the oatmeal was good and u know it's hard to get good oatmeal and grits. The syrup was WARM! I LOVED IT AND CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.

The service was amazing from the time we walked in the door to the time we were ready to go, The food was excellent. I had the hot link breakfast with scrambled eggs with cheese, smothered potatoes, and french toast. The atmosphere was like a down south family type of feel. The music was on point, and you really need to experience it. I was so excited about this experience, and I will do it all over again.

This restaurant is black cuisine at its finest! Delicious food and exceptional customer service. About the food—every single morsel was some of the best I’ve had. Let me focus on some of the highlights. The home fries are incredible. Very savory and so well seasoned. Absolutely could’ve been satisfied with just eating that. I would highly recommend them. The French toast though? Crazy delicious! A must have. As mentioned, everything was delicious but those two items were the superstars. My very picky and hard to please son had the veggie omelette and gave it a perfect 10. My daughter had the catfish with a waffle, and added a side of bacon and fries and gave everything a perfect 10. Now…about the service—the service here was so exceptional, it truly should be the standard for all restaurants to live by. Our waitress was phenomenal, very knowledgeable, and very attentive. Overall, this will not be our last visit and I would highly recommend paying this local gem and landmark a visit. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Serving Spoon is an iconic black owned family business located in Inglewood. This place I admire the energy of all the amazing Black people that were there on Mothers day. When we arrived we were greeted by some Professional handsome young men who gave my wife some beautiful roses. This business has been here for 40 years. Now lets get to the food... We ordered Salmon Croquette with Yams, black eyed peas, string beans, cornbread, catfish nuggets. We paid $65.00 and to be honest the food just wasnt up to par. Thankfully they take EBT. TAKE OUT ONLY. They only gave me 2 salmon, I asked if he could possibly add 1 more since we paid so much and the manager said no. The green beans, Black eyed peas even the greens didnt have any seasoning and was very watery. Although the service was great the food just didnt match up to the price. Overall though I appreciate this Amazing Black Owned Restaurant. Make sure you support!
