I want to add important update: The last time we went there was two months ago. We forgot my husband’s lumbar support. I called them after two weeks (because it took time to remember where it could be lost), they said they have it. Because of work and crammed schedule, we couldn’t pick it up until last week! Frankly, I suspected to find it after two months. However, they kept it for us all this time. I appreciate that! Indeed, great service. Everything is halal except the gyro. Their Greek fries is fabulous! We ordered it twice. Fried mozzarella sticks are really good as well. Of course, shawarma, kabob, and burger are so delicious. The place is pricey really, we don’t go there often. The service is great.

This gem is always a delight. The fresh food, great colours and textures are truly what makes this restaurant. The new way of ordering, different from the older location is much less stress. Next time I'll try the online ordering. Still ordering in person it was not a long wait

Let me start by saying I’ve loved going to the pita house for years now. Hadn’t been in for a couple months and am blown away by the change in price, portion size and customer service. When I started coming here about 5 years ago you would come in, get treated pleasantly, and a big gyro was under 10$. Not only have the gyros shrunk to half the size but they are now 15$! For a small gyro!! Sad to see at a place I would eat at nearly weekly for years.

This is the best place to get good gyro in Grand Rapids. After moving here I was in withdrawal missing my old gyro place. I was so lucky to find them. The food is amazing and the portions are very generous. Service has always been great. I wish they were open on weekends to address my cravings. Their garlic sauce is to die for. I've gone there several times just to get the sauce and pita. I haven't been able to find anything else like it locally.

I’ve been a regular at this restaurant since highschool (2014) & enjoy treating myself when I’m in town visiting family but today I was extremely disappointed. When I walked in to order, the guy making the gyros didn’t say anything but simply pointed to the cash register, then my dad updated me on their changes and that we’d have to pay for our sandwich prior to it being made. I asked for extra cucumber sauce on mine which I reminded the cashier twice and still did not receive it as it was not emphasized to the guy making the food, in addition to my dads order being completely wrong. Even the pita was on wheat instead of white like he ordered which is a mistake that would have easily been avoided if the ordering process was back the way it used to be. But its fine- moving forward my family & I will go to Eastern Deli where I can check my food in real time as its being ordered to ensure its accurate instead of getting all the way home and realizing things are wrong and not as they were ordered. Not to mention I understand inflation BUT our total was over $35 bucks for 2 gyros & 2 baklava.

Sami’s gyro is absolutely fantastic. It’s very neck and neck with some of the great Greek places in Chicago. They give a very generous amount of meat per gyro, their fries always taste fresh. And every time I go the drinks also are extremely good. All around good stop if you’re in GR

My parents would take me here when I was a kid. Loved the gyros. But now everytime I go in there the gyro goes up in price, not kidding literally every time. It is now $15 after tax for the same sandwich with no chips or drink. The hours end at 6pm too which essentially makes this place lunch only. $15 is just way too much for a lunch sandwich with no drink or chips. I remember when this was $7 just 3 years ago. I understand inflation but everywhere else stopped increasing their prices at least a year ago. They also close before 6pm sometimes so ill drive there for no reason. It's been an okay 20 years, I'll get my gyros elsewhere from now on.

Great gyros and kibbe. Friendly service. Convenient free parking. Love Sami's!
