Always passed by this place and never tried it and it always smells so good. Well I finally did it. A day when I didn’t have a lunch date. Walking by again and the aroma coming from this place drew me in. Let me give you some info real quick. Parking: good luck! This is San Francisco, your better off going to public parking then walk around. And if you happen to be near civic then you’re good. Seating: there’s no type of seating area. This is one of those places where you pick up and go, it’s counter served. It was my first time and the guy was at the counter was preparing food and he said “you can start your order!” I was like ummm...what do I do? Then another guy decided he’ll take my order. Basically, you can come up to the counter and type/tap in what you want. So, if you’re familiar with the menu then your golden. Food: They offered vegetarian/vegan. You can basically choose what you want to put in your falafel. I ordered the chicken shawarma which ok. I really like the pita bread and all the fixings, I don’t know how I feel about that chicken though. I may have to try it a second time. Service: there were only two guys there and they were friendly. They move very fast. There were 5 people ahead of me. I think my order took about 10 minutes even with the five people in front of me.

The Flying Falafel is one of the last eateries in San Francisco to offer meals that hit the trifecta: filling, delicious and healthy. I am a big eater and can barely finish any of the various Flying Falafel meals. The staff is very friendly, especially the person who works the cash register.

Wow. An amazing CHEAP vegan falafel and mock meat shop in central San Francisco. The staff were overly friendly and were able to explain the menu and even let me try a little of the mock meat (delicious by the way). There's not much seating but it's great for take away if you wanted to go find a nice sunny spot in a park nearby to enjoy. I will be back before I leave SF. thank you to the boys who were extremely helpful today.

Very small shop with limited options, mostly just falafel and fries with desserts. For almost $8 the falafel pocket was fresh and tasty. The price is a bit steep since you have no choices of what's inside. The wait isn't long so I would recommend as a quick bite before a show. There are no meat options, only falafel.

Tried the spicy flying falafel pita pocket with the super combo meal. Good size portions. The falafels could have more salt. Great fries. #localguides

This little hole in the wall place for a quick bite. You can order online if you want to avoid the wait. They have 1 outdoor seating with 4 stools chained to the table.

All vegan food and fast service even though the line was pretty long. My favorite is the vegan baklava (a must try!). Very friendly service and it is nice to see them prepare your food in front of you.

Great place for quick and delicious falafel! The falafel in pita is a TON of food. The fries are good but unless you're starving you really don't need them. There's a bench outside to sit on with limited room so if you're coming here it's probably a bit nicer to sit down and eat somewhere else.
