This is a well-liked restaurant among my friends, so I have high expectation walking in. Only tried the omelet and ramen this time. Omelet is tender and airy. Ramen is well seasoned and noodle has a good firmness. Price is reasonable (for NYC) given the portion. The waitress are attentive and minor mistakes (from the kitchen) are quickly corrected.

Came in for a quick solo meal. I was pleasantly surprised by the traditional Japanese decor. The spicy roe omelet was fluffy and savory. The potato fried shrimp was scrumptious, as well. I’m so glad I wandered in here tonight!

2018.08 a bit old now. Has some grill, sushi, beside ramen. Ramen.. The noodle itself is common. Not chewy. Meat is not too fresh, probably it's wed.....i feel some refrigerator taste.

(2018/04/25)【qualified if ramen in the States】 tried first time and ordered ramen, which is not spicy one. as above title says if in the U.S., could be qualified but sorry to say cannot survive in Japan though.. anyhow appreciate this kind of restaurant we can visit in outside country always regardless place. good luck on business.

I came here with my sister in December. It was my first time coming here, even though I have lived here for 20 years. It is a tad hard to notice from the street and it looks small from the outside, but it is actually a lot bigger inside and has a warm atmosphere. It was nice to be greeted by the sushi chefs upon entering. It was not at all crowded (perhaps due to the holidays?), and I requested to be seated in what I refer to as a "dining box" with the classic hanging cloth to divide it from the hall. Across from us were private dining tatami rooms, most likely reserved for more formal occasions (they have slippers available by the way). The wait staff was very polite and actually responded to me in Japanese, which is a plus. This restaurant does not have a lot of beef dishes (to my sister's disappointment), but the tea is very good (I am picky with teas) and I had a delicious katsudon (that my sister found delicious as well). They do break for lunch, so plan accordingly. Anyway, I plan to come here again in March to have lunch with my sister again for my birthday. Thank you for the pleasant dining experience!

One word: Chinese. They are Chinese guys failed to make Japanese foods ( or successfully invented Japanese-inspired Chinese foods). Since they want to look like a Japanese in their menu and interior decoration, my review is based on my Japanese standard. The ramen soup was tasteless, its meat was extremely over-cooked (crushed with no effort), noodle was (off the self) out of freshness (started disintegrate in a minute). The hot pot (in the picture) truly reveals how Chinese they were, with pork feet meat with bones (no Japanese restaurant would give you a bone of a port feet) and two tiny Chinese dumplings ( can't believe they said it's for two adults), and lots of Chinese cabbage. Servers were speaking Chinese (one of them poured the hot pot soup over my jacket and other two just could not handle the situation professionally). Their price tags were for Japanese foods (typically higher than Chinese ones). Only lovable part was ice creams (off the self). Now you know this review is a bit sour. Let's be clear. I love Chinese foods when they are done Chinese, but NOT Japanese foods when they are done Chinese.

One of the best place to have authentic ramen in Long Island. The size is more than enough for many Asians, though. I wish they maker a smaller size version, so that I could try other foods from the menu.

Great ramen. Extra noodles option is well worth it. Spicy option is not that hot.
