This was a fantastic restaurant that was open late when I went and had amazing food. It was a great experience and the staff was super nice. The place is also very clean!

Best authentic Mexican food in Waukesha by far, I’ve been going here everyday for a little over a year. I get the taco dinner, the tacos are always perfect. Good meat portions and side portions. The rice is the best rice I’ve had at any place. Service and atmosphere is amazing, definitely recommend good food with a good price !

In short, Taqueria El Palmar has fantastic food that is cheaper and quicker than most fast food places. I try about every Mexican place I can find, and this is the real stuff! I was pleased to find mole (Aztec style "sauce"). My wife got her "standard" Carne asada tacos, and we were both pleased that food came about 5 min. after ordering, and we both ate well for $15. Keep in mind that a taqueria is by nature an informal lunch/dinner place more like fast food. No margaritas, but the food is great and they even have "all-day breakfast."

Warning: They do not serve margaritas. Beer is available, but no booze. This place is small, with only 6-8 tables, and far from polished, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. They start you with chips and salsa, and I appreciated that the salsa had more flavor and bite than most Mexican restaurants that play it safer. I had the combination fajitas seen pictured here, and the person I was with had the shrimp. They do not peel all of the shrimp that they cook. They are mixed in with everything else with the tails still on, and sometimes with shell. The food comes out quickly and there is a little bar area where you can play gambling machines and wait for a carryout.

Ordered tacos with cilantro and NO onions. When I called to let them know they argued that I didn’t ask for no onions. The one food I’m allergic to that I always ask to be kept out of my dish.

Beans were terrible compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. Rice edible. Taco was lacking, only had meat and cheese it was missing cilantro and onion. Horchata had thick paste in bottom of cup and tasted chunky and gross like blendered minced rice. Everything was overpriced for the amount of food received and quality not that good. I'd recommend any other Mexican restaurants in town before this one. Drunk people with no taste buds come here wasted and give rave reviews. It's drunk people food at best. We won't eat here again.

Tried like 5 different tacos. Al pastor was very good, the rest, kinda bland and dry. My buddy had a very similar experience. A can of soda was like 2.60.. felt it a little excessive. Their Roja salsa was very sharp, spicy and delicious. The Verde sauce, a little odd. Table salsa? Smokey and tasty. Service was great. Not sure I'd go back for more tacos tho. :(.

By far the best tacos I've had in Wisconsin and one of the best I've had in years. Serve hot right off the flat top. One bite and I was transported to the food trucks in Playa Del Carmen. I ordered every tacos on the menu and everyone is a banger. Goat and taco Loco is my favorite. We also had the menudo; this was lacking in flavor and tasted a bit watered down. A bit disappointing considering how amazing the tacos were.
