Sweet Hunter was a new one for us and we found it to be just okay. After coming off a high from the pizza at Saint Francis Apizza, this was a letdown. The gelato was just okay, the texture was a little lacking - more reminiscent of soft ice cream than thick and creamy gelato. Flavors were okay...I'd stick with tiramisu and the cheesecake - the Stracciatella was too sweet. We tried an amaretto and coconut chocolate too. The amaretto tasted more like a maraschino cherry and the coconut had a hint of mint (odd). Overall, we gave it a shot but this isn't the place for us. At least the staff were friendly.
Update: aka Sweet Hunter with new owner and no crepes but gelato to die for. My personal favorite is the Lemon Basil sorbet. Step inside this unassuming Mt. Lookout eatery and you will culinary transport yourself to Europe with their crepes, macaroons, and gelato. It is a no-lose proposition. Eat in or carry out. Either way you will enjoy.
Matcha gelato was really good. It had a strong flavor. Espresso shot did not have any crema. It was a poorly pulled shot but overall nice shop to check out. Will return. Service was great. But I really love Matcha and coffee so keeping the review to the point!
I have been coming here for 1 year. I have different service each time I go. Recently ordered a regular gelato got home and they charged me a regular and I received a small. The gelato cup isn’t topped off it’s just scrapped into the cup. I also grabbed a turtle cheesecake. The cheesecake topping of caramel was inedible- extreme hard and cannot chew or swallow. After coming here 1-2 a week I think I’ll take a break. Service and quality is too unpredictable.
I ordered a gelato on a cone, and there was what appeared to be pieces of dead insects (maybe flies or roach legs idk) but when I showed the employee, she shrugged and said that once we made the purchase it is no longer their problem. I am very disappointed in this visit and I will not be returning.
Buona Terra is my favorite place to stop for gelato in all of Cincinnati! They have a wide variety of flavors; every one that I've tried is absolutely delicious! Their portions are great and you definitely get your money's worth. They have very tasty macarons as well!
Very good gelato and sweets. Great variety, I wanted to try everything and will be back soon :)
A great place for gelato and crepes. I went there after lunch for a crepe. It was made right in front of us with locally sourced fresh fruits. The taste was good and the service was great. Definitely a must try if you are in the area.
