We had a nice time at Suruchi. The food was prepared to order (not too spicy) yet delicious and flavorful. Atmosphere was very nice, clean with nice music at a low enough volume that conversation could be understood by all. Wait staff was extremely polite and eager to please. Suruchi takes care to serve fresh food that is freshly prepared, so it may take a few minutes to get the food, but we didn't wait very long. They occasionally have live music. Would return and recommend to my friends.

My husband and I live on Long Island in New York. We happened upon this restaurant during our first visit to New Paltz; our dining experience alone justified the 5 hour r/t drive (which we intend to make again just to eat there). We've eaten Indian cuisine throughout NYC and England and cook it ourselves, but nothing compares with Suruchi. The food is made to order and is as fresh and organic as anyone could hope for. The prices are a little high if one is used to dining on East 6th Street in Manhattan, but they are certainly within range for the rest of NY and more than justified considering the quality. Plus, the portions are generous enough that you'll leave with a "doggie bag." For those who worry about Indian food being too spicy, don't: your order will be cooked according to taste (mild, moderate, hot). Dinner at Suruchi was the best culinary experience I've had in a very long time and one which I look forward to repeating soon!

If you are looking for Authentic Indian food, this is not the place. The food was bland and everything was pricey. North Indian Naan didn't taste like Naan at all. South Indian Uthappam tasted like Pan cakes and it was very expensive $15 ! The college student who served us was friendly but not sure about the items on the menu. Being Indian and lover of Indian food, I was disappointed by the quality of the food. I think the Italian owner/chef should immediately hire a good Indian cook and improve the quality. Also needs to reduce price on many of the items.

Delicious food with a freshness not ordinary to many Indian restaurants. Great portions too. We will return for more.

Very nice experience. The food is fresh, organic and tastes great. Most things on the menu are pretty pricey, but definitely worth it. Service is good, and I certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The food is always fresh and never too heavy. Excellent recipes and preparation.

food is excellent, absolutely delicious
