It's been years since I've eaten here and it's still as authentic and legit as it was back then. I'm surprised this place isn't more famous, it's one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in San Diego. Highly recommend!

This place is not that great. First off there was flies everywhere and food items are not covered. It was really warm and stuffy inside with little ventilation and no AC. The ladies taking our orders seemed confused when we were trying to place our orders..it was sorta weird.. Also they don’t have burritos de asada . My friend got a “beef” one instead and they gave us no salsa and we just wanted to hurry n eat to get out of there. I also orders a michelada with negra modelo and it was also not on point, I can do them so much better. My enchilada plate was just okay but everything else was pretty basic. This place can use some serious improvements to support it’s good reviews.

Pork in green sauce!! Just the best. The pork melts in your mouth. Such a good flavor wow The server was kind to let us try before deciding, appreciated that since I'm not familiar with Mexican food. Thanks for a Valentine's Day dinner when everywhere else is full ❤️

I have been here many times and is the Best REAL Mexican food I've ever tried even than in Mexico. Many options to choose, great staff, good price and big plates. They have also many options besides the menu, even that I read on a review that there is no burritos, well they have! You just need to ask for it, by the way burritos are not Mexican, and they even have it on the menu because they are popular in America. Spicy pork burrito is the BEST!!!

Very tasty definitely but the pork gusados had too much grease for my likes but my hubby likes that. Mole and pozole are delicious and menudo was clean but very Very greasy too. Oh and the Chile relleno was very soggy like the egg part was like a definite No for me. Very clean place 👌 though

I went here because of all the great reviews, but I don't see what the hype is. I got the huevos rancheros plate, it came was $13 which is insanely expensive but I went for it because of all the good reviews. It was fine, the beans were kind of tasteless but the rice was good. I asked for over easy eggs and they have me over hard, like how can you mess that up? I understand the california tax( im not talking about sales tax btw) makes things expensive, but this was over the top. Not recommended!

This place is OUTSTANDING! Traditional/Regional Mexican food. Don't come here for your tired old taco shop favorites because they don't exist. What you will find are traditional Mexican fare that is cooked and spiced PERFECTLY. If you are wanting to experience the food and culture of Mexico while in San Diego, please make this your first stop.

If you want Legit homemade (like abuelita made it) Mexican food, this is it. I ordered to go. Absolutely 💯!! Delicious! I had the Chile Colorado.
