The service was amazing, we had a wonderful and attentive waitstaff who could not have been more accommodating. The ambiance was also lovely. The only reason we're giving 3 stars instead of 5 is the food. For the price, the portions were quite small and the quality could be better. The $14 burger was on the low end of the price range and even then could have been more filling or at the very least used Bison meat as opposed to cow. My husband's Salmon Sandwich was mostly cream cheese with very little fish. It came with a small side of fries and and an enormous side of ketchup that I never even used. My husbands Salmon sandwich looked like a half portion rather than a full, a sentiment that was oddly enough echoed by the table next to us that ordered the same thing. I understand Estes has few food options and a captive audience, but if the quality and portions had matched the service this would be our forever go-to spot as opposed to a "well, we tried it, but..." experience.

Great staff! If your looking for great meal, you may want to wait a bit before trying this restaurant as it is fairly new,. It seems the restaurant chef hasn’t worked out the kinks. My halibut was extremely dry & my daughter pasta dish was mediocre at best. The rest of the family’s meal was OK. I wouldn’t recommend Bird & jim’s At this time.

First off, the host tells me he cannot accommodate my family of 10 for seating. The restaurant has one (1) other table occupied. I was offered 5 and 5 or 8 and 2. After I persisted, he agreed to allow us put two tables together. The same guy makes a big deal when my 2 year old briefly left the table. Review the meals: spaghetti- passable, trout -very good, bacon wrapped scallops very good, the enchiladas were an absolute joke. They put microwavable meatballs inside of a tortilla and call it an enchilada! Do not order anything off the Mexican side of the menu!! Good beer and drink selection. Overall I think there are many other places far better than this one. Unless you have tried all 80 restaurants in Estes Park- don't come here

Eating in downtown Estes was crowded and disappointing every single meal. On our last meal of vacation we drove out of town 2 minutes to try Bird and Jim and finally got a satisfying meal! The food was delicious, the salad was fresh, and dessert was so yummy.

Extremely overpriced (literally double what I would expect) for the quality of food. Not horrible, but not great by any means. Decor is very old and outdated, ambiance left a lot to be desired. Server was ok, would have preferred to have him check on us a bit more than he did. Overall, just an average place, but the inflated prices (even for Estes) mean we won't be visiting again.

Would NOT RECOMMEND this place. Walked in, never asked our name. Told to be followed to sit down, only to be taken back to the front. The hostess let people walk right in front of us to sit down and eat. We are stay the Alpine inn next door, and it's our last night in Estes Park. Worst part of our 4 night trip, onto another place to eat. We went to The Other Side instead and treated so great.

Pretentious Food was way over priced. Kids menu food was $12 for chicken nuggets and another $12 for kids pasta dish (way too big). $8 cup for a cup of soup that was tolerable but not delicious. Homemade Ranch and Honey Mustard sauces were bad. Burger was not great either.

Watermelon mojito was one of the best cocktails I’ve had— usually they’re either too sweet or strong. This one was a perfect blend. The food was delicious! Had pheasant soup and chicken salad sandwich. Highly recommend this retro style, mountain foodie place!
