User Reviews

I'm giving this poor review because this is the 3rd time this has happened at Stevarinos in Scottsboro . . . On May 14th I called in an order at 5:45pm and was told it would be ready "in 15 minutes". I arrived at the restaurant 30 minutes later and the bartender/server asked me what I had ordered 'because she hadn't put names on all the orders'. I told her a Calzone, side salad and pie. She said it would be right up. She charged me and I added a tip to the check and laid it on the counter where I was standing. Then I waited another 30 minutes. During this time, the bartender/server never looked at me or gave me an update on why my order was taking so long, didn't ask if I wanted to order a drink, or anything else. She finally did tell me that she asked someone to go get my order. When the new server brought my order I asked her if they wait until I arrive to cook the order and she didn't know. I explained that this was the third time in the past year that I had been told my order would be ready in 15 minutes yet, once I arrived at the restaurant, I always waited at least 30 minutes to receive it. I noticed that the Calzone box wasn't even warm, so I opened the box and found the Calzone to be lukewarm at best. I asked the server how long it had been sitting in the kitchen and she said she didn't know but added 'they really loaded up the salad for you'. She asked if she could put the Calzone in the warmer and I told her no, I would rather heat it up at home. Since my $27 check with tip was still sitting on the counter (the bartender never picked it up), I picked it up and crumpled it, totally frustrated, then I handed it to the server who likely tossed it without looking at it. While the food at Stevarino's in Scottsboro is typically good if you order and eat in, this particular bartender was only fixated on the 5 beer drinkers at the bar. She didn't appear to care about my business, my order, or whether I would ever return again. I'm an eternal optimist so I will give another phone-in order one more try. But based on my repeated experiences, lower your expectations to accept whatever you're given at Stevarinos, including false timelines, cold calzones, and indifference.

Great food. Owner meets you at the door. Excellent service. Quiet dining. Family place. It’s so good. Go there. Enough said.

We love the food at this place!! Stevarino's is our go to place whenever we are in Scottsboro. I highly recommend the cajun pasta and their pizza is the best! If you want an appetizer, their famous beach bread is a MUST!!

Huge fresh cheese sticks, excellent pizzas, the baked ravioli was hot, fully stuffed and served with great service.

Stopped in just for a beer. Server was fun and helped us choose our selection with several tiny taste samples. (we prefer craft beer over everything else). We did not eat here but I can say I would love to have had a calzone from here! The man seated next to us at the bar ordered one and it was HUGE and looked like it tasted yummy!! Its easily shared by two people, possibly three!

The food is AMAZING!!! The kitchen manager (Jess) is so helpful with menu recommendations and custom items. You can tell she is very passionate about her cooking which makes her dishes something special. Totally worth the extra drive across town to enjoy a savory meal with a fine wine!

This place is absolutely awesome! Everything is made from scratch. The pizza is the most authentic New York style pizza in North Alabama....unbelievably great! We definitely recommend going. Steve (the owner) is a great guy and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Try it you'll love it!

4 waters and 3 entrees costed us around $40. No appetizers, no desserts, nothing special. How was the food? Is it bad? No. Is it good? No. Middle of the road food with a long wait, fairly high price tag and constantly busy bathrooms. Overall not worth a second visit but not bad enough to say I hated it.
