Overall I was happy with the establishment, it's a very simple fast food style restaurant with a nice eat in area. There is a nice outdoor seating area. The only downside of the site was the active train tracks. Arriving at the parking area was moderately confusing as it's across the train tracks for the facility. The signage for the parking area was not completely obvious. The upside of the small drive way for the site is that it gives you the chance to unload any mobility challenged close to the site and park. The view is absolutely wonderful and the food was priced at a good value.
Steamers has been a favorite restaurant of mine since I moved to UP in junior high back in the 90’s. The food is great and while the menu is occasionally updated, my old favorites remain. I have had a few birthday dinners there, taken more than a few out of town friends there (including one from Germany!), and stopped by on many a lazy afternoon for a good lunch. The location is great and the views can hardly be beat. Parking can be a pain, but you can usually find a spot somewhere in the area if you drive around for a few minutes. I love Steamers and have no doubt I’ll continue to stop by for as long as possible. EDIT: So sad to hear that Steamer's is closing. So many memories here ranging from the mid-90s 'til now. Birthdays, high school friends, dates, warm summers on the patio. Broke my heart to read the restaurant is closing.
Fast service with a nice view! We ordered the cod fish and chips and it was a great choice. Crispy but not overcooked. The fries tasted very homemade and had just the right amount of crispiness and salt. We sat outside because the view of the beach was refreshing as the weather was gorgeous. Great place for a cute lunch!
My family loved this place! Great prices for pretty good seafood! This restaurant also has a nice view of the water and nearby park. If you like seafood, I highly recommend this for a casual bite to eat!
Amazing food at reasonable pricing. Great views of the sound as well. Military discount is the best in the area.
Went at off peak hours on a whim. Super pleased with quality of food and you can't beat the Sound views. Will definitely return for more yummy goodness.
Long time since I was here... used to live close by years ago. The food is still delicious & affordable. Glad they have tasty grilled options. Love the views too.
Hard to beat the view. Great place to start a Sunday Date. Captain's platter was really good but it should have had at least two pieces of fish.
