If I could do no stars I would... the girl at the window handed me a large cup without closing the lid all the way. I barely got it through the window and it spilled ALL over the inside of my truck. All over the radio console, cup holder, floor al the way to the passenger door. All over the seat and me. She handed me a couple of napkins and asked what she was supposed to do about it. I asked for the MOD and well he said there’s nothing he can do about it and told me to call the district manager tomorrow. REALLY!!! To top it off the fries half full and they were cold and stale. The burgers and drinks were completely wrong. Oh but it gets better! We attempted to heat up the fries and when we poured them onto a plate a dime came out with them. I tell you what... it’s hard to find good service and food now. It’s just ridiculous!! So Steak-N-Shake... I want to know who’s going to pay for my truck to be cleaned and fixed if it’s messed up.
This location is one of the best ones in the Memphis area. However it has wasted potential. We went there yesterday and the food was great as always I got the double and cheese and my hubs got the spicy chicken sandwich they were awesome as every item on the menu is but it was hard to get the waitress to come to our table. The milkshakes are not as great in person as they appear on the menu, mine was a turtle caramel shake and it was just a plain vanilla icecream shake with too much caramel stuck to the sides of the glass, it was super hard and I had to eat it separately because it was imposible to mix it with the rest if the vanilla shake. My husband's "cookie dough " shake was nothing more than, again, plain vanilla shake with a few scattered pieces of hard cookie crumbs... it was ok but not what we expected, we would have been better off just ordering a chocolate or strawberry shake. All in all, it's always a good place to go and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Fast, friendly service. Food was delicious! Hot components were 🔥. Cold components were ❄️ and crunchy. It's been a long time (years) since I have totally enjoyed a Burger more. Please keep your high standards and I will continue to come by and order.
Worst experience we've ever had. Just sad. Understaffed and it just sucked. Our waitress was overworked, but she did the best she could with what she was given. As for my burger, it looks bigger in the picture, fries were cold and over cooked. I really liked to eat there too. We drive from 30 minutes alway to get it, but you can bet your a** we won't ever go back. You really need to put o ne in hernando, ms. Just sayin
I’ve never liked steak and shake! The service is always terrible. My boyfriend convinced me to give it another try. I get a plain hot dog with relish and some fries and a sweet tea, that’s hard to mess up. We went through the drive through. I get my order and there is no ice in my tea. As a southerner. I do not want hot tea. Had they of let me know they were out of ice I would of said that I don’t want it . But they said nothing, just gave me hot tea and my fries were cold and my hot dog had no relish, they could have told me they were out of relish and I would of said I did not want it. For I can make a plain hot dog at home . Not only did they not put what I asked, they added mayo mustard and ketchup which was NOT ever asked for I dislike the taste of mustard and ketchup very much. Terrible experience as always. Never going back, don’t care how much time has passed. Steak and shake will never be good. Steak and shake has never done anything right.
Nice server but the place is filthy and needs a good scrubbing. The ceiling tiles are stained with water spots, the floors look like they have not been properly mopped in months, the window sills are covered in dust and the walls are gross to look at. I'll eat lunch elsewhere. Love the uncovered thermostat and if there is time to lean on the counter then there is time to clean.
Our server was nice after she arrived but service was slow because she was the only one working, several others standing around doing nothing. The place is filthy and there is a trail of grease out both front doors. Lots of texting, lots of chit chat amongst employees and obviously no cleaning.
Horrible, slow service that can't even get a basic order correct. Dirty floors, tables, and employees. On top of all that, when we finally got our correct order, 2 of the hamburgers were raw in the middle. Not just pink, RAW. Never coming here again.
