Ex employee here. Have been so excited they re-opened and I can say I was not disappointed. Waited less than 4 minutes for a perfect burger with everything I asked for, fresh fries and chicken tenders still steaming through the drive thru. So happy and impressed and will be back often!
It's your typical fast food place. Seems clean enough. They were out of several things when we went. Also their app said they had Coke Zero but they did not. Nice employee brought our online order out to us though. Great shakes of course.
Heard they had gone to a kiosk style of ordering so I thought that might give faster service. Not so. Only two other tables in front of our orders and it took more than 30 minutes to get our food. Then my burger (loaded with everything) came on the plate with my mother's sides, and she got her plate with my sides. Food was tasty but the experience was not.
I just picked up Chili 5 ways I am 3 minutes from the restaurant and it was cold. Scared to eat it not sure if it had been sitting out. There’s no phone number to contact. The one star is because fries were fresh and that doesn’t happen very often. Looks like maybe froze and thawed in microwave Please refund my card
Sadly, there's no better place to go and quietly have a good burger, these days, than Steak and Shake. Since the whole ordering format has changed, people don't seem to "pack the place" like they used to. But once you get past ordering from the kiosk, the food is still the same! Can't beat those fries!
If I could give no stars I would. I went to this location after placing an online order and I ordered a milkshake and a garlic double steak burger with a side of large cheese fries. There was only one single employee working. When I arrived, there was a sign saying no milkshakes, but there was nothing on the app preventing me from ordering a milkshake. The single employee working said she would later process me a refund, but it has now since been over a week and I have still received no refund. My food that I did receive was cold and she forgot the cheese for my fries. I cannot say I would recommend this Steak ‘n Shake. You are better off going to the one on veterans or the one in Bloomington. Update: 4/20/23 I came back in hopes of a better experience but it was even worse than before. I placed an online order and I’ve been sitting here for nearly 30-40 minutes. I am disappointed to say the least and this is the last time going to this location. The manager is kind, but the food took too long.
It's back open! Tried to stop here last year after a Cornbelters' game and it was closed. Stopped again this year after a Cornbelters' game (there was a banner outside welcoming us back) and they were open. The staff was very friendly. The service in drive-thru was quick and the food was exactly what we expected from Steak 'n Shake. We'll gladly stop here again!
Decent food. Have to order at kiosks now and usually have to pick up food at the counter when they call your name. Paying with a gift card on the phone app requires a managers help.
