Me and the Mrs. Came here for lunch and both had their bacon double cheeseburger combo meal with shoe string fries with banana and strawberry milkshakes. Man that is one of the best tasting beef burgers I had. So juicy,So flavorful man it was heavenly. Nice interior seating and you walk-in go straight to a kiosk machine place your order and in less than 7 minutes your order is ready.

I had a chance to eat at steak ‘n Shake today. It was clean, and the food was good, but it lost its soda shop experience feel. You may ask why? As you can see in the photos they have gone to kiosk only ordering for dining in or takeout. Now this beats having a zit faced teenager, picking his nose, handling the money and handling your food. However, it asked you to tip, who should you tip? Do you tip yourself since it’s completely self service? When I spoke to the people when they came forward after my order was made, they were very nice. I think they should consider a hybrid of self service and human service. It honestly felt like I was ordering from Amazon. It was easy, simple, but very cold. Tough to find workers I know, and people still are concerned about COVID, but this place was founded on the principle of an old time soda shop experience.

Keep in mind that I came here when it was very late, about 30 minutes before closing. I worked at a different steak n shake a good few years ago and while there were some changes to streamline things, ultimately it's the same low-key experience as it always has been. The manager working there was really cool with us, and the food was delightful - except for burgers with pads of butter slopped on them. Avoid those for sure, the butter doesn't melt enough and it gets real gross biting into a piece of butter amongst an already sloppy burger. Real shame that they seem to not do side by side shakes anymore though :(

Went this last Saturday 7/23/23. There was a younger cook and an older cook. Having worked in the restaurant industry myself, I know how difficult and frustrating it can be. The older cook was working his butt off. The younger cook was standing around complaining. When we walked in he rolled his eyes and swore about having to do more work. While waiting for our food he started shouting at the older cook about absolute nonsense. He was blatently degrading the poor guy who was actually hustling and pulling the weight of the shift himself. The food was good, but that kid needs a serious lesson in hospitality. I can't say I'll ever be back to that location specifically because of this experience. The food was good, but the experience was the most depressing thing I've witnessed in some time

I went in this location because I had a taste for a butter burger which I had for first time in elk Grove location delicious. Well I got it it was all greasy could not eat it thought mayo was on it I could get 1 of 3 peoples attention behind counter I told them I couldn't eat it .no recourse took 5min of saying excuse real load to get 1 guys attention it was like he was mentally challenged the other guy looked at me I'm back never made eye contact again then the blonde came from back she was up front when we put in our orders on phone personal call long long hair cooking no hair net I should have got clued in first appearances will never go back I would fire all 3 it wasn't even crowded now I see why

I ordered a chili thru drive thru. I didn’t even pull off yet and I realized my chili was spilled all out the container and in the bottom of the bag. I instantly told the guy at the window and he went and got the manager Nathan. Nathan then told me he was only replacing this ONE TIME because his staff said it was given to me still in the container. WHAT?!! So I just spilled it all at the bottom of the bag and wanted a new one?? MAKES NO SENSE. Haven’t been back since I was treated that way by the manager Nathan. Horrible customer service

Used the app to order late nite meal. Perfecty prepared -- burgers were neatly wrapped & placed in burger box. Burgers were well constructed. They offered Heinz ketchup in the fancy packets & had our food hot & ready for pick up.

The food took forever (at least 10 min wait) via the drive-through and the worker attitude was horrible. Burger was legit, but fries were cold and ruined.
