This steak 'n shake was different than any other I had been too. Obviously with covid, changes were made for efficiency and customer service. You now place your order on computers, and they call out your order number for you to pick up your food. The place was very quiet while we were there, and the food was great. Using the computer to order was easy, and you could customize the food just the way you want it. What lacked just a tad, was the friendly customer service you expect from a restaurant. Kinda felt like I was just order number 140. But I get it. All in all good food and a good experience
We started right here to celebrate a win with the kids. Always great shakes always great burgers but a few things made this visit special. No longer waiting at the counter for a server now they have self service kiosks. You can pay cash or card. Once your food is ready they will call your name. Our food was hot, fresh and perfect. Floors were Alittle dirty but that's what corporate gets for using white tile. Haha. I noticed outside were a few tables and umbrellas, that's nice.
Old man rant... As you enter the restaurant, you are directed to stand in line at a kiosk to place your order then you go to a station to get your own drinks and other items needed for your meal (condiments, napkins, etc.), you then wait at your table to be called up to go get your food tray and after you eat you clean your table and throw away your trash. Okay, but lower your prices and pay your few employees a decent wage, and don't program your kiosk to prompt for a tip. We also had an unfortunate view of the kitchen and watched an employee distribute and redistribute food between several orders with their hands. I know this is picky but the less food is touched with hands the less chance there is for illness.
Genuinely great experience. My sister and I had a poor experience a few months prior and decided to try again today and it was absolutely amazing. Fries were great. Burgers were fresh. All the employees were so sweet. Lovely and welcoming environment for sure. Thank you!!
Portion to price is high. About $25 for 2 people. Location was clean. Tables sanitized between guests. First time experience with this chain. It was okay. Ample places to sit and park.
I used to love this place. Fries were cold, burger buns were cold and old. The milkshakes were not that great. The price was too expensive for cold old food. Will not be coming back.
We were out of town for a wedding and since the location in jackson disappeared, we thought we would stop at this one. It's as if I had never at this franchise ever before. The food was excellently prepared and hot. I had never got my food like that in jackson, never. It was the best visually prepared to go order I had ever seen. Every item was pieced together as if they actually cared what I saw when I opened it. Every item was correct, well made and hot. I ordered the double steak burger, fries and LG coke. Also a bowl of chili. If we make it back to this beautiful part of TN, I'm stopping here to eat again. Good food and I gotta make sure it wasn't just a dream.
Prime example of what a Steak 'n Shake should be. The food came quickly and was fresh. The service was good. The Frisco burger is the best and you have to get a milkshake for the full effect, the peanut butter banana was wonderful.
