Breakfast Menu "Steak 'n Shake" Buford

The food was absolutely delicious. I have to say with some of the best steak and shake food I've had in a long time. That's where the good ratings end. The new whole self-serve thing at steak 'n shake makes it feel like you're out of cafeteria and you're not even at a restaurant. Now for the cleanliness it's absolutely horrible. There's so many people that were walking around the lobby trying to find a clean table and couldn't. The bathrooms were disgusting. There is trash everywhere. All the tables were dirty. The windows were dirty. There's dust and filth hanging from the ceiling. It's absolutely disgusting.

The place was absolutely spotless when we walked in. There is no one to take your order, you must use the kiosk. It’s an introverts dream!!! Our food was called within 15 minutes. No complaints!! Great prices too!

Excellent comfort food for kids. Modest pricing for big families.

I hadn't been to Steak n Shake in years so I didn't know it was now all self service. That said, the food I had was great and the prices were much more reasonable than I remember. I had the garlic steakburger with onion rings off of their $4.44 menu ($1.29 upgrade for the rings) and it was really good. Definitely better than any of the standard fast food burger places and even as good or better than some of the more trendy places like Whataburger or Smash Burger. I didn't have one but the shakes actually looked like real milk shakes and not even as expensive as McDonald's. Overall, I was very impressed.

Used kiosk and sat down, got food surprisingly fast, the employees were helpful to an older gentleman that didn’t know how to properly use it as well. Amazing service and food. Definitely recommend if your craving burgers and a milkshake💯

We hadn't been to a Steak n Shake since they put in the kiosks. It was a pleasant hassle-free experience though. It now equates to a typical fast food restaurant experience. Food was good and came out fast. No real interaction with any of the staff though. SEPT 2023 UPDATE - Plessant staff, tables were all dirty but the food was on point tonight!!!

Steak 'n Shake has changed a lot. You have to order on a kiosk, and then go up and get your food. It is not like it used to be. The food was still good but it's not what it used to be.

I brought some heavy eaters up there. Dad couldn’t figure out the CPU. His carrier USS Franking D Roosevelt was wooden and burned coal. I was the computer tech USS Virginia CGN-38, thought I had it. Press burger get burger, right. Dad had no fry’s - on receipt. We had no shakes- on the receipt. Made my head hurt! Didn’t get to eat because all the fiasco and some guy named Jack! Finally I get a manager and I asked him for a hat to settle my dad down . He said no hat! Dad would look good in a hat. Varsity gives him hats….
