I love this restaurant. It is a small and looks like family owned and family ran! Foods are so delicious and great service!!

I ordered through door dash a veg Tikka masala and mango Lassi. They didn't give me my mango Lassi. Come on yar. That's like $5. 🙃but I called and let them know and they said they'll refund me. and the rice isn't very flavorful. Veg Tikka masala was good tho.

Saffron Indian kitchen is so delicious. I order from there at least twice a week words cannot express how delicious their food is. It’s so fresh. I’ve never eaten so good.

LOVE this place, I have been getting food here for years. It's right down the street from work, and there are tons of gluten free options. Delicious and generous portions. They've never messed up an order! I hope they never close!

Good food, prompt service, reasonable pricing. Update: Been coming here for a while & the food has always been quite good. If anything, the food has gotten better over time. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars. The noise level can be a bit high, but not so much to disturb table conversation. Tonight they had live sitar music; very enjoyable. Review is for location in Merion. Note: they have monthly specials. Don't overlook that menu to try something s bit different and just as very well prepared as the regular menu. Updated for covid-19: still excellent food and very courteous. If you order takeout, check their web site to get that monthly specials; the delivery services don't always show the specials

I'll admit the food tasted good but I found a hair in my takeout meal(It wasn't my coarse hair texture at all so I know it wasn't mine) and when I called in regards to a FULL refund they offered to remake the food instead but I never want to eat somewhere again that I've found hair in the food they served me which I told them so then he offered me a refund for just the dish I found the food in but I didn't eat any of it once I found the hair.... so I demanded a full refund which he still didn't end up giving me. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place due to sanitary reasons and how they handled it.. especially since we're in a pandemic. I'm extremely disgusted and disappointed with how this was handled. I'll be contacting my bank today.

Saffron is definitely an unexpected gem right on Butler Ave in downtown Ambler. I'm glad that we decided to go in person instead of ordering delivery. We ate right on the street and their presentation was fantastic. We started with two veggie samosas that were really good (so good, in fact, that I forgot to take Yelp pictures of them). I got the Boti Kabob Masala and added veggies. My girlfriend got Chicken Tikka Masala and a Mango Lassi. We split Aloo Naan and got basmati and raita to share with our main dishes. For ~$80 this was more than enough food. My favorite part of the meal was that the dishes were served family style in their own bowls and you could mix your dish however you wanted. Everything seemed very fresh and was delicious. PRO TIP: Sometimes "medium spicy" can be too spicy at an Indian place but the waiter here offered "in between mild and medium spicy" which was just perfect. Definitely try this place. It's different than the American/Italian places nearby.

December 2018/June 2019 I've since returned to this place and the food was much better. the service was on point and I was pleased with my meal both times. June 2018 I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for a while now. I went there with my best friend on my birthday 6/10 and sadly, it was very disappointing. The appetizers were an "A" ( Vegetable Samosa and Onion Bhajia). The service was a "B" . They were attentive, but not welcoming. The entrees were a "D" (Aloo Mutter $13 Potatoes and Peas cooked in a light curry sauce & Fish Curry $18 Tilapia fillet with curry leaves, cumin powder, and dry chilies cooked in the chef's special sauce). I've had curry dishes at other authentic Indian restaurants and the curry sauce is not a tomato based sauce! Both sauces were the same. There was not hint, taste or smell of curry in these sauces whatsoever. I brought it to their attention and they claim that the dish contained curry and offered to re-make my dish, Aloo Mutter over. When returned, the dish was the same. My bestie and I were both disappointed in our entrees and barely touched the entrees, hence a waste of $31! I may returned to get the Onion Bhajia via takeout but that's it. am a vegan with gluten intolerance and there's only so many options when I dine out. Its disappointing when I can't enjoy my meal as it's a waste of money.
