We have eaten there many times. However, we haven't lately for a number of reasons. Lately things seem to be going down-hill. For one thing the bathrooms need remodeling and cleaning. They have had the same pictures in the lobby which look like they are from the 50's for many years. How about something cheery and up-to-date? The carpets look like they need to be cleaned too. The vents need cleaning. The steaks once were tasty, but now seem flat and tasteless. The people who work there are pleasant and helpful. We hope some of these improvements will be made because we once enjoyed going there. Buffets all seem to go through this trend. Thanks!

As another person said, the emphasis here is on quantity over quality. There's quite the variety. I didn't have any items that I thought were spectacular though. Considering that the emphasis is supposed to be on steak, it was sort of disappointing. Some of the tougher steak I've had. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and chewed as long as I could. The baked potato was pretty solid, literally. An adult dinner buffet costs $11.49 + tax. Adding a drink costs $2.29. I stuck with a glad of water. Good selection of desserts. Overall, for the money it's a good value if you're interested in sampling a wide variety. The staff is very courteous and willing to assist you if you need help. If you want a higher quality meal, then your best bet is to go else where.

went there with 3 people for the dinner buffet, we have gone there many times in the past. the service , food, and management are a whole new experience now. it was a waste of money and time the plates were all the way in the front of the restaurant, so if you want one from the back of the place, you had to walk to the front to get them. the silverware were in one place by themselves, but no signs to tell you where they were. the bowls for the dessert were on the opposite side of the room from the ice cream. unfortunately, the ice cream was empty the buffet itself had no labels to show you what you were eating, so it was a guessing game as to what you were eating on a lot of it. when you get strawberry shortcake, you actually got a muffin with strawberry sauce, not the actual strawberry, but again, you had to look around for a plate or bowl to put it on. the condition and overall feel of the restaurant made you feel like they were about 10 minutes from closing, and you got to pick from the leftovers of the day. the clean plates that they brought out were still dirty, and the workers there didn't seem to care that they had things to do, but were too busy talking to each other, instead of doing their jobs. we talked to the manager on the way out to explain our experience, he wanted to give us a coupon for a free dinner for our next trip there. we told him that due to the overall setup of the restaurant, that we wouldn't ever come back. then he gave us a full refund and an apology. I would not recommend this particular location in des moines to anyone.

Typical buffet, cold, hot, dessert. But if you can control yourself, you can eat quite good! We always eat a huge salad. They offer green leaf lettuce, and every salad topper you could imagine, including fruit cold salads etc. Its usually kept really clean also. The hot bar is big, but we usually just eat baked chicken tacos, which you can make.Lots of meat choices, but hot food is just average. But like I said for the price you can def. eat healthy for cheap IF you make the right choices. Drinks are expensive, but you can go and get tea, coffee, cappichino, icy, soda, and as much as you want. Wait staff is great ask for "Debra" shes a great waitress, you can sit where you want!!! We always tip her! $10. dinner $5 lunch , and if you get a chance $5 breakfast on sat and sunday!!!!!! SOOO great if you need a big breakfast!!!

The last 3 times we ate there the place was dirty, the tables and chairs in horrible condition and the food was unbelievably terrible. It has probably been 6 months since we have been there and that is a dissappontment because it used to be our favorite place to eat. We even drove 50 miles to Clive to take frineds and family.

The food is what you would expect from a hospital cafeteria-not a buffet. If you are looking for quantity, this might be for you. Not even the soft serve ice cream had much flavor.

Typical American buffet fare: emphasis on quantity over quality. Tasted OK and had enough variety. Kids enjoyed it.

Very dirty place. Bathroom had sticky floor and was the most disguising bathroom I had ever seen. The flood taste like hospital food was right down nasty
