This place was a fabulous place for an anniversary dinner! We had never been there before and did not know what to expect. When we told our waiter that it was our anniversary he asked if he could take our picture with his camera. We obliged and soon he came back with it printed off and put in a nice little cardboard frame. He also brought the complimentary dessert. The food was delicious!

If you want a very special evening, this is the place!!!! It was our 1 year anniversary and Roy's made it special from the minute we walked in the door. From a little framed card wishing us happy anniversary (personalized with our names) on our table, to an awesome dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. They took our picture and put it in the frame also. Brandon was our waiter and was very professional and attentive, giving us time to really enjoy our evening. The meal would have been a 10+ but the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer was not good. Sorry guys :( All in all an amazing evening! Thank you.

There simply is not a better place for Happy Hour menu, prices, ambiance, and friendliness. Go three times in a row on the same day of the week? They know your name. Go more, your order is ready. And worth it? OH YES! The Aloha Hour menu has servings that are 6$ and unbelievably flavorful, comforting, and beautifully presented. So if one of your couple or crowd is an old soft shoe and another is candlelight and flowers? You will BOTH be happy here. Now, the restaurant....Chef Carl won the big prize on a TV top foodie show, and it shows. [Sit by the cooks one time and watch him....he know what is going on in every part of that kitchen every second...and he still comes over and chats!] He is more than a chef, he is a genius inventor of taste, presentation, and perfect pairings. There isn't better in this town. Try the Mahi Mahi, of course, but don't STAY there....you'll miss out on what ELSE he does with fish, beef, and pork. And at least share one of his desserts because he loves to make them and so....they are worth every single calorie and every bite is a sonata in your mouth. The staff from Robert, the big boss to the guy who is brand new busing that day is HAPPY. And when you have a happy staff, a great, not good, great chef, and a lovely setting? Well, Aloha! You have been lucky enough to find Roy's in Sarasota. You will have a wonderful meal the first time you go...and an extraordinary experience the sixth time you go. This is place to go back to. I like a place that consistently delivers and feels THAT welcoming. Five Stars...and well deserved.

I took four other people last night around 7:30 and we were seated immediately and also may I add welcomed with a very sincere warm greeting alhoa. As being seated we were greeted with Blake the mgr. on duty he introduced himself and then proceeded to tell us about wines so we all agreed on his expertise of white and red and to proceed to say it was very well a great selection on his part.Next we had the ribs, pork belly appertizers and also some sushi, again selections from Blake again another fantastic recommendation on Blakes part, my guest raved about the selections. After we all had a little arugula salad with the asian pears and also beets and there own selection of dressing all I can say about that is WOW, then we all had a entrees from the filet to perfection to the surf and turf and another shrimp dish done with coucus and the 14 oz Pork Chop with a sour cream and cabbage with a Spaetzle Pasta again everything was cooked to perfection. Not to forget about Julie our waitress not that im prejudice at all most times in a fine restuarant like this one I would perfer a man waiter but to exceed my likings she was so knowledgeable and sincere into her profession that she has changed my mind on my preference she was a sweetheart just right I have to say new exactly when to come to the table and when to step back of having our conversations. Then we went to desert Just to die for I really don't know how we had room but I have been here for desert before and I just had to have the upside down pineapple and the chocalate warm cake all I can say is WOW WOW. All I can say to sarasota if you haven't been to this restuarant well what are you waiting for it is a dining experience you really would not want to miss, and if you do decide to go because of this review please let them no that I have touch your palate and also your heart for writing this I really feel it should really be your next choice of restuarant for they are doing a impeccable job here in sarasota keep up the great work Robert and Blake very proud of the two of you gentleman very professional and I am very glad I have been to this fine place and will definitely return in the very near future and I know for sure my guests will be back also. Again thank you so very much for making us welcome as you have succeeded with honors, I can not thank you enough.

Excellent happy hour drinks and app's. There is no view except for the bartenders and chefs and the dining room is on the dark side. The food was excellent with the butter fish leading the list. Also, reserve (need to order in advance) and save room for the chocolate sufflet (spelling?).

6/30 the only spice the chefs seem to use is salt. way too much salt in the duck and the potatoes . Don't they taste there food ? That is being served? I did give Toby the normal tip it is not the servers fault that the food is over seasoned. where is the owner of the place to monitor the business? thank you sean

A 'foodie' or gourmet style of restaurant. My budget only can allow for a special occasion but I truly appreciate the care they take with taste and presentation details. Service is generally very good.

The only complaint is that you feel guilty leaving food on your plate. Excellent. Must try the chocolate dessert, absolute perfection.
