Breakfast Menu "Rhett's Restaurant" Southern Pines

Nestled off a side street near the train station in Southern Pines, the menu offers a variety of light fair. Salads, sandwiches, burgers and a bit of pork or fried trout. Food was tasty and the service was good for our lunch meal.

Rhett is friendly and understand the needs of eating gluten free for Celiac Disease. His kitchen is Celiac friendly and most menu items can be made gluten free.

My partner and I ate there on a Wednesday evening. We had the chicken and waffles and a burger. The fried chicken was overcooked and improperly cleaned. The burger was overcooked. We also had a piece of red velvet cake that didn't taste like red velvet cake -- it smelled strangely of alcohol. Overall, the service was poor. The tall gentleman that waited on us spent most of his time on his smart phone and I had to go to the front to get his attention on a couple occasions. An unfortunate and surprising disappointment overall.

I just went to dinner with my husband and daughter. They are kid friendly which I like. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was overcooked on the outside not cooked on the inside and unfortunately the waffle was soggy from the sauce they used. I would of loved some buttermilk fried chicken with a crispy waffle and warm gooy syrup but nope I was disappointed. My husband had the drunkin pork with roasted asparagus. He wasn't impressed with the pork. My daughter had mac and cheese and sweet potatoe fries which both were very good. The collard green spring rolls and corn bread were also very tasty. The food came out in a timely manor, staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are great!

I love the relaxed Southern style combined with a local fresh menu. The service was outstanding. however their website menu is not updated so there was a different set of entrées than we had expected. Their Fried Green tomatoes with homemade pimento cheese was delicious.

Had an awesome dinner there last night by reservation only. The shrimp were tender and succulent, the salad was like nothing I've ever had before, and the slow cooked ribs were "fall-off-the-bone" tender and deeeelicious! Dessert was a masterpiece for the palate with bacon wrapped ice cream. OMG! Rhett is a culinary artist and your plate is his canvas. Let him paint you a dinner to remember! His staff were extremely attentive and the live music was just right. Can't wait to experience another evening of dining delight with Rhett.

Local favorite, outdoor dining or inside. Using farm to table ingredients always imaginative interpretive cooking. Rhett is always checking on the customers to make sure you have a good meal.

Great food. Plain and simple. Excellent staff and friendly atmosphere. High quality southern food.
