While out and about around Connecticut the wife and I stopped at this wonderful place the other day. When walking in we were greeted by a warm comfortable atmosphere and we were quickly sat in a location that we had requested on the second floor. The menu was very extensive and we ordered soup and dinner, Both are soup and dinner were absolutely amazing, both came out in a timely matter and our soup was piping hot and delicious. I had the steak and cheese which was a generous portion and the wife had the flat bread with eggplant and arugula. With drinks, soup and dinner our bill came to around $70 which I find very reasonable in today's market. Our overall experienced was excellent and I highly recommend stopping in this place if you are in the area.

If I'm ever back in the area I will 100% be stopping back here. Oh my goodness everything was fantastic!!! We started with the brussel sprouts, which I've never had paired with apples and cream before but it blew my mind 🤯. Maybe the best Brussels I've had, and that's saying a lot, because I love crispy brussel sprouts! Then we had the fish and chips and one of the pasta dishes, and both were amazing. We finished with the baked Alaska which was delicious and all three of us LOVED the meal. I feel like I could eat there every day 😝. It is a bit pricey though, so just keep that in mind. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.

Went here for dinner never having gone before. I ordered an infused manhattan and the orecchiette pasta. The past was to die for - beautiful flavor and spice. I couldn’t stop eating it; i finished the whole bowl. The Brussels sprouts we ordered as an appetizer were a little over cooked and I was left desiring more from a flavor standpoint. The interior of the building was beautiful and very atmospheric. I would definitely come back.

Had dessert .. crème brûlée and cheesecake . Both were amazingly good . The server was awesome and the place is wonderful . Will come back to try the entrées .

There was a lot right about this place. The service was good. The interior design was outstanding. The food was very good. I had the chicken curry lettuce, something or others. The deviled eggs 🥚, and a 12" pepperoni pizza. The chicken lettuce things were great, or chicken lettuce things (like tacos, with lettuce, ha). The deviled eggs were a no effort dish, looked good, tasted ok, but zero originality, just a throw in like chips. The pizza was good, I wish that's all I ordered. Ordered only water to drink, tab? $40. Inflation sucks or they're a little pricey.

The Republic is amazing, based off my minimal experience, and is definitely worth trying out if you're passing by or want to have a special dinner. Food: - I got the Philly Cheese Steak and it was by far the best Philly grinder I've ever had in my life. The sauce/cheese they put in it was absolutely amazing; fresh, thick, gooey, yummy. The dish was served steaming hot, and was actually so hot I couldn't eat it. I've never been served food so hot I could not eat it; that's amazing! - The standard fries they serve are amazing! - They seem to heat the plate, and even the holder that holds the fries so they stay warm longer; you hardly see this in restaurants! Service: - Patrick served us and was amazing, top-notch waiter and honestly gave some of the best, if not the best, dining experience I've had at a restaurant. It felt as though every time we needed something, he magically appeared there for us. - Immediate attention was taken any time it seemed as though we needed water, seemed curious of the menu, or wanted the check, etc. Other: - I normally don't do this, but the bathrooms were immaculate. Clean, fresh, pristine. I had to take a picture to prove it, I was so shocked - they say the kitchen is as clean as the bathrooms, and if this is the degree of cleanliness they kept, the kitchen must also be spectacular. - The theme/mood of this restaurant is more upscale and homey, an excellent place for a romantic dinner or valentine's day.

Just moved to Connecticut a couple of months ago, several people told us we needed to come here. Wow, they were right. We came for my Dad's birthday dinner. Restaurant itself is cool, has a rustic vibe, we sat inside but also has a very nice large patio. Service was great, staff is very friendly. Food was excellent, no one had any complaints about their food, we will definitely be coming back again and again, can't wait to take other friends and family here.

Our experience was mediocre at best. Went for happy hour but could not sit in the bar due to a group that had reserved the area. Fine but that meant that the happy hour menu was not an option for us where they seated us. Ok...it happens. They seated us upstairs and it was very warm and stuffy. We overheard the waitress tell another couple who complained that its because the balcony is located over the pizza oven....omg....might be nice in January but not in August! Service was deadpan and unhelpful. The food was again, just 'ok'. My Manhattan on the rocks was actually a little WARM and just did not taste right. Maybe they keep the bourbon on the pizza oven? I was very surprised at our experience as we love Abigail's in Simsbury which I think is owned by the same restaurant group. This place is too pricey to be mediocre. Too many other better options. Thx.
