Food and service is a notch above. We went for breakfast last week: Home made corned beef hash - oh my, excellent. Eggs, perfect as were the hash browns. The home made Italian bread toast was so good I ate all of it -- rarely do I eat all the toast at a breakfast place. Coffee was a delicious dark roast - not the usual bland breakfast place cheapo stuff. My wife had the ultimate avocado toast - high quality/tasty loved it! Service excellent and attentive, friendly. Décor is as it was when the place started in 1958 - awesome feel inside. Will be back again - can't wait to try the specialty items on the menu - although I'll probably be tempted to have that wonderful corned beef has and Italian toast again. . Highly recommend!!!

We enjoyed Peter Pause for the first time today. I had the strawberries and cream pancakes shortstack. It was amazing! It was almost like eating strawberry shortcake for breakfast. My husband had the eggs, bacon, home fries and French toast platter. So MUCH food. All very delicious and worth every penny. The staff were very warm and kind. Can’t wait to go back. I think we found a new regular diner to frequent.

First timer for breakfast. Place was empty. Food was prepared fast but the toast was burnt. Seems like it should have been fixed since there was no one else waiting for food. Place looked clean enough and the waitress was nice so no issues there. The eggs were good, the bacon was good but the potatos weren't very good at all. Tasteless and barely warm. The coffee was terrible. The french toast was pretty good, nice and moist but it could have used real maple syrup. Not the end of the world though and the stand out of the meal. This place seems like a standard 2.5 but I bumped it up to a 3 because the staff was nice and that matters.

Great dinner breakfast and atmosphere. Some more modern menu options in addition to the standards. Service was excellent. There was a board game collection, a nice signal that there was no need to rush through your meal.

Really good French toast with homemade Italian bread, and even REAL maple syrup!! We parked our bikes outside and after breakfast it was still raining hard so they kindly let us stay - we played some kid games they have on a shelf.

Awesome diner! If you want breakfast this is the place! The staff are awesome and super helpful! We went as a large group and they accommodated us as best they could. The food was very good and came out really quickly for what was ordered. If you get toast do not miss the Italian bread!

Five of us dined for breakfast. We ordered pancakes, eggs Benedict, spicy BLT, steak and eggs, and the egg/spinach/avocado bagel. We all loved the food (the hollandaise was incredible and the steak was tasty and cooked perfectly) and highly recommend this unassuming little gem.

Stopped in before a day at the races on a recommendation from the front desk at the Landing. Our party split up because the place was packed (always a good sign). My friend and I grabbed counter seats, the significant others a table nearby. Had a short stack of pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were phenomenal and the Bosco syrup made me smile. We were wondering what the secret ingredients were for the hot cakes??? My wife’s friend asked me what I thought and before I could answer… we heard they are made with looove. Great energy and service. Don’t miss this gem, street parking only. The NJ visitors will be back!!
