User Reviews

After an injury left my body quite defeated and loss of appetite, I recovered. One of my first cravings was for a pastrami sandwich. Not wanting to go to NYC to the traditional tourist traps, i decided to research, best pastrami sandwich in NJ. To my surprise I found a couple of places that were highly rated. One seemed ridiculously over priced. Pastrami and Pickles was an hour away from my home but, I trusted the recent reviews and the pictures I saw. So, I took a ride, still recovering but hungry for my first meal outside hospital food. I'm so happy to have made the trip. So many food options, so many great specials listed, I stuck to my plan and cravings and ordered their Pastrami and corned beef sandwich. Impressive freshness, very personal and attentive service. Fantastic staff and reasonable pricing. It was one of the best pastrami sandwiches I've ever had. Looking forward to going back and I've already raved about it to all my friends. If you are craving delicious, homemade, creative foods, you must make the trip.

Oh my brisket! This food is literally worth driving for! My son & I walked in and we're immediately treated to piping hot slices of the most delicious corned beef I have ever tasted in my life! After seeing the size of the big sandwiches, we opted to get 3 rather then 4 for our lunch with my parents! A half of each sandwich is all any of us could eat! The meat was incredible! The rye bread was fresh, as were the sides of Cole Slaw. Oh, and did I mention the pickles? Oh la la! During this time of Covid, they have sidewalk dining. They also offer delivery and catering! Needless to say, we have found a little slice of heaven on Westfield Ave! For my readers who observe, there are signs up that they are NOT Kosher. We will be back again!

Fantastic service and the best pickles ever!!! Fresh cole slaw was a nice surprise as well. Large portions and flavorful offerings. Worthwhile stop after leaving the city, to head south.

Pastrami Sandwich on Artesian Rye Bread $12.95 comes with sliced pickles and homemade cole slaw. I am so happy I stopped here. The Pastrami is moist, Melts in your mouth and is Ridiculously flavorful. The Mustard was outstanding and something I've never had before. This is absolutely the Best Pastrami Anywhere. Its Better than the new overly hyped Pastrami Grill in Garfield, easily has 25% more meat and I don't have to drive 35 min to get there. Its more flavorful and moist than Harold's in Edison and way less expensive. The Owner Ahsan Kazi is a Nice Guy and Donates a lot to Charities. Overall great experience. I'll be back. Get there and Go today. You'll be very glad you did.

Very pleasant environment and yes they do deliver. You definitely get your monies worth & some. Stop in you will definitely not be disappointed.

Ok...Tried starting '22 off with a good meal, FAILED horribly! I ordered some brisket disco fries and a cornbeef and pastrami sandwich for dessert haha. The fries were undercooked, gravy was like water and for God's learn how to get your fat to meat ratio right with the brisket!! The sandwich was piled high but very poorly made. Condiments that came with the sandwich were almost non existent. The cole slaw served to me was very poorly chopped and in BIG pieces, as to where its was very hard to eat with a fork. I don't know why I am complaining about that anyway, it tasted like someone tossed it low fat mayo mixed with water. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed and upset with my experience here and will NOT being going back. Don't waste your money on this establishment.

Sandwiches are getting worse each time 3rd order from here... first order’s sandwich had extremely old meat that you couldn’t even chew...threw while sandwich away... 2nd order was slightly better but also found out that you have to ASK for better cut of meat???? Yesterday’s order was sent to my home with mushy French fries because they were so full of grease. I could’ve fried chicken with the amount of grease that was left in those fries. DoorDash always accommodates with refunds but this establishment should be ashamed of themselves for what they sent to my home last night. My daughter’s burger was THROWN in a tin pan with the same greasy hot fries which caused the plastic cover to melt all over the burger!!!! Almost 100.00 spent to be 100% disappointed!!! 3rd times a charm they say but not for me!!! I will never order from here again!!!! And to the person that answers these reviews so unprofessionally.... your establishment was closed after I received my order because I drove there to bring these food back!!! There was no need for a call first

We we're hearing all the rave about this place so we decided to try it. Now I'm a New Yorker so... The cornbeef wasn't bad.it had just the right amount of fat to give it flavor. The pastrami was another story. The whole sandwich was fat! We had it delivered so maybe that was the problem? Pickles were awesome, coleslaw was good. Not sure if we'll go back or just take the ride to Berkeley Heights? A shame because we eat!
