Papa Gino’s is the only place I can find ricotta pizza, which is my favorite pizza. Lately every time I order from this location I’ve had an issue. Wednesday night I placed an order for pick up. Large ricotta pizza and an order of buffalo chicken mac n cheese. The pizza was cut wrong, the slices were not even close to being the size they should be (cut into 6 instead of 8). Wasn’t that much of a big deal, I can still eat it. Then we open the mac and cheese to see this disgusting mess. It was like buffalo sauce soup. Completely unacceptable. It was thrown in the trash, it wasn’t even eatable.
I order about once a week online. Not only is my order ready when I get there, I also get a personal greeting by name. The staff is very nice and the managers are very patient with the employees which I know the retail typically has to deal with turnover. I have never noticed any frustration which says alot for them. It is always clean. Pizza is always yummy!
The PG on 44 in Taunton was super busy this Friday about dinner time. They still got my to go order done on time and it was PERFECT! They had a great crew working tonight! 👍
Ordered a sub for take out .I then get home open it up an it wasn’t the sub I had ordered an asked for. So I call an explain an they say they will deliver the correct sub to my house .Driver gets there after about an hour or so later an then the young man ( delivery driver) tells me next time we will not deliver your sub nor will we reimburse you . I said Ah excuse me you guys gave me the wrong sub how is that my fault ? Then he starts mouthing off to me making a cry baby sound .. what ever happened to customer service ? So I call an then the kid on the phone starts mouthing off .Then I asked for a manager an was placed on hold for no one to come back to the phone .I call back again an they were now closed ! Never did spoke with a manager So needless to say I won’t go back there ever !
Edit 5/8/22: same timing issues. Not sure if quotes are wrong or employees are just this slow under pressure. But for a pizza factory, the pizza is slow slow slow. But good thing my sides are done and just sitting in the heaters... When not busy and dining in, this place is pretty good. When it gets busy many times the service has suffered and overall the experience is not great. Hit or miss but when it is hit: thumbs up.
This papa ginos is one of the best papa Gino's around. Their employees are exemplary, especially Sarah. I enjoy their food often. Highly recommend
I don't know if it is only this location or it's franchise-wide but I've been disappointed once again. It mainly has to do with the crust. It used to be much more thin with a few puffy air pockets like that of a true hand tossed crust. Further, it used to have cornmeal on the bottom that gave it a distinct crunch. In an area that is fraught with greek style pizza, I now have to search for a new Italian style pie. ☹
Love Papa Ginos! If you're looking for Greek style New England pizza look elsewhere, but if your in for a semolina dusted New York style pizza topped with mozzarella, you've come to the right place. Reliably good. Chicken tenders, burgers and hot dogs are great too!
