User Reviews

One of Pleasanton’s finest restaurant for sure. Why - exotic Guyanese fusion cuisine that should please every palate. Very attentive service and a full bar. What else can you ask for? And yes, the nicest chef cum owner - Maurice and his son are real delightful people.

All the food was very salty and heavy flavored. Even the sides that was in the entrée. They was no balance on the food flavors. The Oxtail Stew has good flavor but too salty. Oyo Pepper Pot was okay but very salty as well and it was just the short rib, no bread, salad or anything to accompany it. The Paella’s were salty and wasn’t very good, but the seafood paella was better than the Paella Oyo. Jerk Pork Shoulder had food flavor but again too salty. The bread was fresh but doughy. It was pricey and I don’t think the food was worth that price. It was disappointing, the presentation of the food looked food but not the flavors/seasoning due to its saltiness. I would not be coming back.

I brought my aunt here for her birthday everyone else loved their food I didn't enjoy mine. I had the vegan paella the doubles. I just feel like with oxtail' stew should come with rice who eats stew by itself. So my Cousin ordered the rice after the fact and ended up having to wait almost a half an hour just for rice to come. The mango lemonade was great. The atmosphere was lovely. Need help with the service. Just be prepared to wait. They had like 3 people working outside and inside it just takes too long to get your food and to get items in between and your check.

I love that you can choose from inside or outside seating. The food was delicious and great portions. We didn't try any appetizers or dessert. For being Mother's Day, I think the service, and food was excellent! And we were a large group of 9. Not my first time coming here and definitely not my last.

From the moment you step into Oyo, you're transported to a cozy haven that exudes warmth and charm. The menu is a treasure trove of mouthwatering South American delights, showcasing the rich flavors and vibrant culinary traditions of the region. Every dish is crafted with care, delivering an explosion of flavors that will leave you craving for more. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste is truly commendable. Whether you're indulging in empanadas, feasting on succulent grilled meats, or savoring traditional desserts, Oyo will exceed your expectations.

20% tips is already included in the bill and taxed on top of it. So it's more like 22%. Food quality is acceptable, but there's nothing special. Of all the paella we ordered, only Paella del Negra tastes a little better.

Pumpkin Soup Appetizer - I could have this every day! Our server was kind enough to split it between the two of us in separate cups. Tropical salad - refreshing ingredients with the right amount of light dressing. Jerk St. Louis Ribs - ordered the full rack (was enough for 2-3 people) Very meaty with a spicy kick! Finished with Banana Bread Pudding and homemade Strawberry Ice-cream topped with a salted plantain chip. Would definitely order this again (our server told us afterward that it's their most popular dessert) Despite being packed on a Friday night, we were seated promptly, and the service was friendly and efficient. We parked less than two blocks away in one of Pleasanton's public parking lots. Reservations are definitely recommended.

Delicious meal at Oyo! Oyo offers upscale Caribbean and South American cuisine, and everything looked amazing, starting with that giant half loaf of fluffy skillet bread! 🍞 I had the Guyanese Cook-Up Rice, but with 6 people, we ran through that menu. 😂 Jerk chicken, goat curry, pepper pot, and Run Down fish were all served up, with no complaints to be heard. And then ... dessert! 🍮 Pine tart with mixed berry cabernet ice cream, bread pudding, and the last pic, cassava pone. 🍠 That the one I had, and I loved its solid pudding texture and layers of coconut.
