This establishment has been here for a while. Free bread and butter upon arriving. The inside location is a bit on the darker side even though it was dark outside. The sirloin was nicely cooked and flavorful. Coconut shrimp was a bit disappointing. Skip the pasta surf n turf.
I came here with a coupon. However, It was the restaurant next door but it was all worth it. With a coupon or not, the food was delicious, hot and the service was perfect. Comparable to Texas road or cattleman's....
Recently I had my first Outback experience. The waiter was really nice and the restaurant resembled close to an Australian diner. I thought that the food itself wouldn’t be that great of quality, but actually it was some of the best sirloin steak I’ve ever had. I ordered a 11oz. Tender Sirloin steak with asparagus and home style mash 🥔 🥩
As you can see in the pic my "med rare" 16oz? Prime rib wasn't. They brought out our food little bits at a time. It was empty but for some reason our server didn't come to our table unless she had a reason to go to the only other occupied table near us so 3 separate trips... Entries, then about 5-10 minutes later the Mac n cheese side, the 2 minutes later condiments ( ketchup/horseradish) and it was dead! Hurry and eat there if you like that place because this one is going to go out of business with food and service like that.
This happened to be my first time ever eating at Outback. I called ahead to make a reservation for a party of 7, well when we got there 30 minutes later they had no record of me calling even though I had talked to two girls over the phone, I had to repeat my name twice on the phone because they didn't even ask my name when taking the reservation so I figured something might happen, and sure enough it did. They were very rude when about it, to the point that I had to show my phone to them to prove that I called them at the correct location and time that I said I had, instead of apologizing even once, they continued to be rude and acted like it was my fault they had to figure out how to find a table for us (even though they weren't even busy at the time anyways) I would have understood since mistakes do happen, but to NOT apologize and act like it was all my fault that they couldn't find my reservation, even after I showed them proof that I made it, was just awfully rude and very unprofessional. The young man who served us was at least extremely nice and did a very good job, also I had the filet minon steak and it was perfect and very delicious, I would definitely recommend the steak, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. I wish I could say the overall experience was up to par, but unfortunately, I just don't see any excuse to be rude to customers, especially when they weren't the ones in the wrong. I would recommend there food, just don't go to the Elk Grove location on Laguna blvd, I would highly suggest going to a different location so they don't "lose your reservation" and then blame you for it!!!
We go here all the time and lately the service has been hit or miss. We went in on a not busy Sunday. We ordered drinks but never received them until after our salads came out and we flagged down a random server. Most of our party received their food and the 2 kids mac and cheeses were supposed to be right out. They were not until our server finally came around to see how we were doing. We were never asked about refills until we again got the attention of another server. We finished dinner and waited and waited for the check. I understand a bad night but this is happening more and more at this site.
We had 430pm reservations. I wanted prime rib and was told the only options were well done. Which was horrible. I ended up getting a Rib eye with coconut shrimp, my father a porterhouse, my daughter a kids sirloin, my other daughter a sirloin with grilled shrimp, and my husband a ribeye. All the meat was tough for each plate. My son ordered a Joey kids cheeseburger, they forgot the cheese. My mom ordered the seasonal 1 lb crab, no flavor just boiled. The waitress brought out 4/8 of our drinks and took 10 minutes to come back with my daughter's lemonade. My mom ordered a bourbon 7 and 7 and they put margarita salt on the cups brim!!! And she asked for it to be removed, as she's low salt intake. They simply poured it into a new cup which ended up mixing it with the salt 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ They were not busy at all the waitress had 2 tables and took forever to come back with things. Outback used to be better years and years ago.
We came on a Thursday evening and it was not busy at all, which was nice. Our waitress was training and both girls were wonderful and very pleasant. Had smiles every time they came to our table. My picky teen loved his fries that came with his burger. He's definitely a food snob,so I know they must have been really good!
