My 92 year old mom did a DNA test and found out she is part German. For a weekend vacation my wife and I drove to Helen to let her experience some of her heritage. We stopped in for lunch at the inn and were seated quickly by the friendly staff. We decided to share a sausage plate, which was more than enough for the three of us with four types of sausage, plus a generous portion of potato salad, red cabbage, and sauerkraut. Also tried a glass of the house beer which was really good. Staff was friendly and attentive. We will dine there again.

The food was good and the waitresses were friendly and professional. The place is a little rundown (especially upstairs). It's trivial, but they charge for water with your meal (it's not much, but that's not the point)... but the food was good and portions large enough for two.

Awesome dinner. Food was terrific and our server, Robbie, was fantastic! The restaurant atmosphere was authentic, playing great German music with many German/European decorations. Fun evening!

The restaurant is old, small but slightly quaint. The quality of the food is more or less decent. The only issue I have with this restaurant is the fact that they charge you an upcharge of 3.99% if you use a credit card, and they actually charge for tap water! They don't permit food or drink of any kind into their establishment but have no problem charging you 50 cents a glass for tap water that they probably get from a bathroom.

We went here because the wait time for other places was too long and this place was fairly empty. That should’ve been the sign to leave. The menu is very small and offer the same thing multiple times, but with different variations and sides for the item. If you want to substitute a side item, it’s an up charge. Hell, WATER isn’t free! They charge a “non-cash fee” when you pay with card, which would make sense to me at a gift shop and not a restaurant. For the service, the lady serving us was awful. We asked if they had something on their menu that is common in most German restaurants, but she gave us a weird look and said they didn’t. I was a little bummed, but tried to find a new thing to try. The food I ordered was AWFUL. I’m glad my friends at least were able to finish their meals. I couldn’t stomach mine. Red cabbage was mushy and straight from a can. Friends said they had to pick through the food because it was either undercooked or too bland to eat. Zero flavor. Would NOT come back.

Please don't listen to the last reviews. They are spoiled children. My Ruben sandwich was amazing. The potato salad was also great. The atmosphere was authentic. Downsides are the water did cost money. Not many choices mainly variations. I would recommend getting a sandwich only.Would go here again.

The little upstairs bar was one of if not the best spot we stopped in for all weekend. Britney was our bartender and was great. Robbie and Tyler were also super helpful. Also the Spatzle is the best I’ve ever had!!!

We had dinner there. In addition to the 10% off coupon we had, we were given complimentary beer. The service was good, as was the food. The dining area was small and hot.
