Breakfast Menu "Niko's Express Italian Deli" Vista

As a native of NJ who has lived in San Diego since 1986, I'm always looking for a good East Coast style Italian deli. A friend of mine in Vista told me about this place and I'm so glad I checked it out. (I would never have found it on my own in the back of the gas station.) In my first visit I tried their classic italian sub and it was superb...so nice that they take the time to source local italian bread and use quality meats. I went back again yesterday and tried one of their hot subs (sausage and peppers) and it was fantastic. I think I'll have to make at least 10 more visits to try all the other sandwiches on the menu! Note: They often close early in the summer, so if you're planning on grabbing dinner from Nikos, be sure to call first to confirm that they're still open.

Best food I've ever had. Cooked to perfection. High quality. Jim the owner is top notch gentleman. His food is so good you could eat the sauce like soup,I know I do. Never had pizza like that before. Any body who disagrees go drop on hole.

Really good food! They can almost make what ever you want to eat! The sauce is better that I've had in a long time! It was on point! It is fast food, but it doesn't taste like it. Very nice workers and they were very patient with our party and explained everything to us! We went in the afternoon and it wasn't very busy. My eating friend said bathroom was not clean. No paper towels etc....I didn't care to venture there

We stopped by to get some gas and was surprised to find an Italian restaurant inside. It looks like it's family owned and operated. The chef and his daughter are extremely friendly and helpful. It's fresh made from scratch so it took longer than expected.

First off, for people trying to find this place, it's inside the gas station. There are a handful of tables you can sit at. All the food is made fresh, so as the owner will tell you, it's best to call in your order, even if you plan to eat there. Also the menu on Yelp is a little different from the one in the store, so go by the one in the store over the one on Yelp. As for the food I wanted a slice of pizza, but found out that slices are only served during week days, but the owner made me a small pizza. The pizza is very good, and I highly suggest it. While talking to the owner I found out he used to live in Philly, and says his cheesesteaks are better than Pat's in Philadelphia, next time I crave a Cheesesteak, I will be trying the one here and see if it is any better than Gaglione Brothers.

I am originally from New York and this Deli is so far one of the best ones I've been to since leaving. I had the Chicken Parm as my first sandwich and the sauce was perfect. Also you can tell the difference with the fresh bread that is used.

Go here. If Mr. James is working, you're in great hands! I ordered the Pa Paw classic and my wife ordered the Classic Ruben. Incredible food. Incredible service. Incredible experience. Thanks James!

This is the best Italian food in vista. It may not look like much but the food is crazy good. It has great prices and great food to boot. Everything is just flipping good.
