This diner is small but quaint. With lots of Elvis memorabilia all over the walls. Nelson’s as a diner can become crowded and there is good reason the diner food is quite good. This is place that has a lot of regulars. Staff are friendly and service is quick. There is some outside dining that is easy to miss because it is on the side.

Nelson’s Diner is one my favorite little diners in Pompano. I’m a regular here for breakfast and I’ve also stopped in for lunch. You can order eggs, bacon & grits (or toast) and a cup of coffee for a reasonable price. Bacon was crispy - just the way I like it. There is a morning rush but the wait staff are on top of it with drink refills and check-ins. My boyfriend enjoyed their chicken fried steak and biscuits & gravy. And we tried several places in the Pompano/Ft. Lauderdale area to find a good gravy. I also had a turkey club for lunch. It was huge and delicious with layers of toast, tomato, lettuce and bacon. The club sandwich is served with hot, crispy French fries (or tots). I’d definitely recommend Nelson’s Diner!

Lighthouse Point, FL. My husband’s picky about diners because he was a short order chef in high school at one of La Habra’s finest and he took a bite of “Nelson’s Famous Biscuits and Gravy” and said, “Oh my goodness. You have to try this.” His brother took a bite and said, “Oh yeah. That’s the real stuff.” The sausage gravy is chock full of fine bits of good sausage with a slight sage flavor throughout. The gravy itself is full of sausage flavor. It’s not just white gravy with a few specks of sausage, it’s really sausage gravy. My brother-in-law said he liked Nelson’s pancakes better than his usual spot because these were thinner. They smelled amazing, like maybe a bit of yellow cake batter had been mixed in. When he bit into his well-browned sausage patty he grinned and said, “That has some kick to it!” The American diner atmosphere was spot on. One thing that stood out was the red booths and chairs were in great condition, no cracks. Spotless clean. Great servers too. We’re real happy we drove here. Great breakfast place.

Very comfortable place to be. The service was AWESOME! We could tell they were very busy, but all the staff were smiling, taking with customers and making everyone feel welcome. I had the tuna melt with tater-tots, which was perfectly made to satisfy my craving for good food.

I come from Jersey so diners are my thing. While visiting my family in South Florida I decided to seek out a diner for breakfast. I didn't want to eat at a chain like Denny's or anything close to that. I came across Nelson's Diner in Pompano Beach. They serve breakfast all day long. They are open Mon-Fri 6a-3p and Sat and Sun 7a-8p. The decor is very retro, cute warm and inviting. From the minute I walked in I realized this is no ordinary diner. I was immediately greeted by a friendly server. On the walls are all different kinds of famous Memorabilia and dedications to famous people. In one corner, there's a section dedicated to Elvis. The tables are retro and bright, red along with booths. It reminded me of a 50's style diner. I checked in on Yelp and I was able to get a free cup of coffee. For breakfast I ordered 2 eggs over easy with bacon and grits. It came with rye toast. The grits were really good and cooked perfectly. My mom ordered the exact same thing and she loved hers too. My bf ordered 2 eggs over easy with bacon and corned beef hash. He ordered whole wheat toast. He throughly enjoyed his breakfast. The coffee was delicious and hot. This place is located in a strip mall. There's free parking. If your looking for a diner setting, delicious food, in a cute setting with nice staff then this is the place to come.

Best quick service. Best food. Elvis memorabilia everywhere. Wonderful experience.

We arrived and the Ambiance is of modern day with Elvis Presley memorabilia I ordered the Memphis platter which is corned beef and eggs and hash browns they didn't do the eggs as I requested soft The Corned Beef was good and the hash browns or dry my husband ordered the Greek omelette which he said was great with tomatoes we had two coffees and our bill came to $27.48 the service was good the spot is small I'll be back

We’ve been going to Nelson’s for years because we love the all day breakfast, it’s honestly been a staple of Pompano for the longest. My reason for the review today however is unfortunately a complaint regarding the middle aged dark haired woman (who never introduced herself so I’m not sure of her name). I’ve noticed in the past that she constantly complains, I’ve even noticed it to tables she was serving next to us in the past on several occasions. But for the last few weeks I’ve noticed it getting much worse specifically when she verbally scoffed when customers left a full glass of tea behind after they finished the meal and left. It made my husband and I feel so awkward but honestly just chalked it up to her being a generally unhappy person. But today took the cake for me… We sat outside and unfortunately, she was our server. Look I get that it’s summer in July in Florida but she literally complained about us sitting outside (which we did so because we had a small dog with us) about how hot it was for her to be outside and how she can’t believe we’d sit outside THE ENTIRE TIME FROM BEGINNING TO END. From the moment she greeted us until the moment we left. I mean the underhandedly rude comments were endless till the point I think I made It clear that she was making us uncomfortable and frankly starting to piss me off. There were other servers working at that point if it’s such an issue get someone else to take care of us.. but instead she just made us feel so uncomfortable that we just payed and left immediately after rushing through our meals as quickly as possible. Honestly that behavior from a service industry worker’s perspective is unacceptable and straight out disrespectful. We plan on coming back because the food is awesome and the rest of the staff is great but someone needs to have a conversation with this women to insure it doesn’t scare off customers in the future.
