Nasty Not good I'm not coming here again! Not worth the money or time ! Sorry but it's watery , fearless and spice list, the Arvada people seem you like it but what do they know about Mexican food ? My ladies tamale looked as if they tried to cook it in the microwave on her plate. A bunch of cornmeal squeezed onto a tiny amount of meat then microwaved. When asked how my meal was I said horrible and their only response was sorry.
What a great lunch! Good portion, priced nicely, and just so delicious. You can tell they put love in the food.
It has been a Lakewood staple for many years, but now becoming an Arvada staple. Decent food, tamales are fine, green chili w pork my favorite thing. I enjoyed the variety of offerings for their lunch menu. Nice people, efficient and clean. To go, orders are quickly available.
Attention please.. Nelson (Mgr) Alfredo ( The fabulous personal owner) and Ramon (chief) are a team that can't be beat! Guaranteed. I have been in Colorado 3 years after Living in Mexico for 2 years. "The Monterey House" is so fabulous /" Delicious, with flavors and quality beyond belief. I'm so excited to be able to write this review. If you want the real athetic Top of its class Mexican food this is a place to go.
Checked this place out for the first time on a recommendation. The food is good, not spectacular, but really good. What I liked about the place is the service. Pretty sure it is family owned and the whole family works there. We had chips and salsa at our table before we were even settled in. Good homemade salsa too. Wife and I ordered margaritas which were really good. I had the Monterey House plate, which has a bit of everything and a lot of it. This has been one of the few times where I could not finish everything, of course it came out on two plates, so it was a lot of food. Wife had the small combination meal, and it too came out on two plates. Seriously, you get a good amount of food. After we had ordered, we had our first plates within 5 minutes. Service is quick!! Their green chili is a bit too watery for me, but still has good flavor. Maybe ask for it on the side. Overall, I do like this place and would go back. It’s a hole in the wall restaurant that you would miss driving by, but the service is better than some fancy places I’ve been to. All tables were taken by time we left and a couple was waiting to snag our spot. They’ve been around for a while. I know why, good food, lots of it, and great service. I’m gonna go back and try a burrito next time, and another margarita 😁
Great family establishment. Staff are always friendly, and food is quickly served and tasty. They happily allow my daughter to order pancakes anytime of the day, even after breakfast has ended.
A delicious simple but very tasty meal. Their smothered green Chile is homemade and very delicious. Si get a side of the green chili to be eaten as a soup with any meal you get here.
