The cupcakes and other baked goods are to die for. The help is friendly and very helpful. If you've every been to key west and sampled a "real" keylime pie, you will love the key lime cupcakes here. The store is immaculate, the workers are very kind and helpful. I love the swing chairs at the counter. This shop has to be on your must visit list when in Iowa City.
I had to call five different bakeries to find one that could do an ice cream cake for my husband's birthday. Molly's absolutely blew away my expectations. The cake was gorgeous. The ice cream was soft and tasty, and not full of any of that nasty stuff that keeps it hard even in warm temperatures. Fudge streaked throughout. Scrumptious sponge at the bottom. LOOK AT THE LAYERS. Best ice cream cake we've ever had. We'll be back next time.
BEST CUPCAKES EVER! The cupcakes are so crazy and delicious. Crème Brûlée is outstanding, tasting better than an actual crème brûlée. With a burnt sugar top, and a custard in it as well as on top of it. So delectable but so delicate, as some cupcakes have refrigerated portions that require you to eat it or refrigerate it within the hour. We also enjoyed an incredible s’mores cupcake, peach cobbler cupcake, and Boston cream. All incredible!
Been here a few times. Pretty tasty confections with gluten free, soy free, and vegan options. I ordered a gender reveal cake several months ago and was overall pleased with the result. This time around, I ordered a vanilla sliced cupcake with vanilla ice-cream filling. For a dessert shop, their confections are decent but the fact that they offer dietary-restricted options that most other places don't is a extreme benefit to someone such as myself. Keep in mind, their allergen friendly options are limited but worth going for.
One of my favorite places in the area! Worth the drive from CR to get some cupcakes whenever there's a craving! Even more of a bonus that their gluten free cupcakes are really good - my favorite is their GF chocolate with vanilla icing.
It's no wonder Molly's Cupcakes won the very first season of Cupcake Wars... their cupcakes are to die for. The original location in Iowa City is a cute little shop right across from the Old Iowa Capitol building. Literally, every flavor of cupcake behind the refrigerated case is delicious. It's just a matter of what you want to eat. If none of the options suits your fancy, there's always the ability to create your own on the spot! Price is very reasonable and the staff is extremely nice and helpful.

Pretty good cupcakes. Frosting was very tasty and rich. The cake in the cupcake was very fluffy and light. Filling inside tasted so yummy. Nice atmosphere and decorated very well. Very expensive and I consider it to be overpriced. Probably not worth my money. Would try other desserts though. Clean restaurant and nice employees.
