The conglomeration sandwich was great, and we also got a $5.00 burger basket which was the Monday special. The beef in the burger was exceptional; juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The "famous" cheese fries were boring and not worth the extra money. We sat outside to eat which was great. However the waitress serving us had way too many tables and left us waiting long amounts of time for the bill, drinks, etc.
Had a short layover in Iowa city and was in the mood for onion rings. Lemme tell you....these were thr best. The rings itself are an actual meal. Lol the jambalaya was delicious but the star was the ONION RINGS.
Fantastic food, great service, classic Irish Pub atmosphere. My daughter says it's the best French Onion Soup in Iowa City; the Rueben is to die for, just perfect. Looking forward to returning!
We had lunch on Sunday mother's Day. When we arrived it was really busy but we were able to find one table. We did have to wait a bit for service due to the number of people. This place has a variety of dishes including burgers and other sandwiches. I had fish and chips. The food was really great and obviously handmade. They have some unique coffee liqueur drinks. They had Irish coffee as well as a cinnamon and butterscotch flavored liqueur coffees. I enjoyed my visit and will be back.
I would give this place 5 stars based on the food and overall atmosphere, however the restrooms are not handicap accessible (down a flight of stairs), and there is no changing table for infants. Other than that, great place.
Great spot for late night food. very reasonable prices and everything was quality. definitely would come back
Came to Iowa City for a college tour and ended up at Micky’s based on a recommendation. The pretzel bites were really good, the jambalaya (pictured) was excellent and the tortilla soup was good too! Dined here on a Friday night and the place was really loud, like you have to yell kind of loud. I’d come back here in a minute for the jambalaya. Yum!
Busy place, clearly a local favorite. Food was all good although fried food were a little over-fried. Cajun fries and beer cheese mashed a good combination.
