The food is excellent, and as far as I can tell authentic. It's a little on the pricey side of $$ (the pastas and meat dishes are all $14+), but what you're paying for is an amazing family-owned restaurant with friendly service and outstanding food. I especially recommend the tiramisu if they have it (they don't make it every night).
