User Reviews

I have been to several Max and Erma locations in last 5 years. We never had any bad experience with their food. It is sad to see other locations permanently closed but I thought this deserve a review. We love their appetizers and main. Their soup is amazing too and their warm cookies are always the best of everything. We definitely love this place and hope this gets away from being permanently closed.

- food was fresh and had good flavor, tortilla soup is probably my favorite item on the menu. It has a good balance of flavor and heat. - place was clean and organized. - staff were friendly, had good attitudes and service was quick. - prices normal for the area and meal size is good for what you pay for. - nice atmosphere and warming vibes. - overall a good experience and I'd recommend this location.

For lunch/dinner we decided to stop into Max and Erma's to grab a bite to eat. We enjoyed the Tortilla Soup, Ceasars Salad and ordered the 3 course combo with a order of Chicken tenders. The Garbage burger and the BBQ Cola Burger were filling along with the endless fries with a chocolate chip and snickerdoodle cookies is a great combo. The fries were just ok but didn't feel fresh overall.

The French onion soup is still the best! The salmon was really small and very crunchy on the top... but the flavor was nice. I didn't care for the rice pilaf or the fresh fruit salad. The club was good and the Skewers are still a must have.

Food was good, not great. Fries and items were cold. Took 40+ minutes to get our food even though they were at less than 50% capacity. Our server was great though. 12-26-19 UPDATE well, tried again today. Food was good when it finally arrived. Server was scarce, and had to wait until food arrived for drink refills and the salad that was requested prior to the food coming out. Then had to remind the server that a cookie was part of the "3 course combo." Sad how most of this type of restaurants have slid downhill in customer experience over the past 4-5 years.

Stay away far away from this place. Been here a few times to actually give this place a fair shot. Not the closest Max & Erma's for us but we do shop close by. Service is on par with any other restaurants in the area so I am not overly critical of them. But the food has been just terrible. Our last visit was a simple family dinner. Two kid's chicken tenders with fries and two of their Three Course Specials, which is basically a side soup or salad, burger and a cookie. For any place like this one, this is the bread and butter meal. Kid chicken finger and fries is the most ordered kids meal, and burgers are a staple. Well, the kitchen didn't mess up the kids meal, they came out cooked and not over cooked which is surprising. Wife's salad, well Caesar salad with no dressing in it is a bowl of just romaine, really how did someone mess this up. My soup, well my server ladled that out herself and came out just fine. The problem came with our burgers, they came out dead from the window. And judging by the fries they were a re-fry (fry cooks will take cooked fries and re-fry them to warm them up, instead of making fresh ones). Burgers sat so long our medium burgers were well done when we got them. Bottom line don't go, find somewhere else to eat. Being that this place is based out of Columbus you would think they would get it right here first but sadly they can't.

Excellent! The tomato, mozzarella and chicken on chibata is outstanding!! The specialty burger, the Dubliner, was equally as tasty! Loved the onions. Yummy. For $5 the The Bad Erma ?? Wasn't bad but I think I'll splurge on a special cocktail next time.

I love their tortilla soup! This trip the tortilla strips were on the edge of being not good. Maybe it was a slightly older bag because of Covid 19. because we know everything is Covid19's fault. I had the garlic shrimp penne, which was very good. We also had an order of avocado cobb salad which unfortunately only had one strip of avocado on the salad. So you probably should not actually call this an avocdo cobb salad. The beer was cold. So even with these minor issues with the food I still give this visit four stars.
