Where to start? First of all the customer service is unrivaled. I'm very unfamiliar with Indian cuisine. The owner not only greeted us but explained each of the dishes as well as appetizers. Making suggestions based on our questions. The Thakali Curry, a dish that comes from the owners village came with a charming story which which not only explained the dishes smokey flavor but gave a personal insight into the owners history and the history of the dish itself. I did try it and thought it had a wonderful and complex smokey flavor. I ended up ordering the Butter Chicken for myself which was a perfect introduction dish. Not only was it incredibly delicious but it was something, that in my opinion, anyone could enjoy. Do yourself a favor and order the Pappadi Chat. It was phenomenal. While it is an appetizer I could easily see myself ordering it for lunch or a light dinner. When looking at it from the outside you would never guess how charming the interior is. It's a smaller restaurant but it has a very personal feel to it. From the presentation of the dishes to the white linen tablecloths. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Anchorage and nationwide that I’ve been to! Exquisite customer service and delicious authentic dishes. Will be coming back again and again!

Very delicious authentic flavors, especially loved the spices they used. My wife and I really enjoyed going here. Cozy warm atmosphere. We were the only dine in patrons, but it looks like they do a lot of take out. Really enjoyed the white table cloth experience. Very friendly owner and staff. Would definitely visit again.

Great place. The food was amazing. It was fresh food with great flavors. Had gajar halwa which was delicious as well. I could not find a single fault in the food nor the service. The chef came out personally to ask us how did we like the food. Please visit this restaurant if you are in anchorage.

All dishes were carefully crafted and prepared by the owner chef. In particular we loved seekh kebab, butter chicken and thakali curry. The food quality is so much better than lower 48. The restaurant also uses linen service which is only usually seen in very upscale restaurants. Fine dining without fine dining price in my opinion.

Food was delicious! It’s hard to find good restaurants in Anchorage. The options are limited. I tried a few other restaurants around, and I feel Mandala is the best in city. Few things which impressed me 1. The samosa stuffing. It was yummy 2. Butter chicken gravy. The balance of spice and flavors was superb 3. The service. The staff was nice and friendly 4. The ambiance was pleasant with light music 5 stars to the Chef and team.

Some of the best Indian food I've had anywhere (and I've eaten it a lot in many places in several countries)! One example (of many) is the Mango Lassi. Mandala has taken it beyond any 5 star restaurant I've frequented. This holds true for the dishes I've tried. However, there is one minor exception: the samosas were good, just not up to the high standard set by the main-course dishes. That being said, I can't wait to go back!

This was our first time to Mandala but it won't be our last. The small, comfortable restaurant's tables are covered with crisp white linen. the young man who waited on us was soft-spoken and efficient. The Samosas and the Bombay Aloo were absolutely the best we've had as were the Matar Paneer & Tadka Dahl. We thoroughly enjoyed the garlic naan. To top off a most delicious lunch, we had an exceptional warm rice pudding with cashews, sweet raisins, saffron, and warm cream, topped with a garnish of silver leaf. Amazing!
