The best Italian food I've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh down to the bead. The couple who owns the place originate from Italy, so this is about as authentic as it's gonna get apart from actually flying out to Italy. A must go
I come from an Italian Family and have travelled in Italy....this food is REMARKABLE! We are very particular about our Italian food and my father turns his nose up at most Italian food around town, However, I plan to have my father's 89th birthday at Mamma Teresa because it is the best in town!...Mangia Bene!
Idiots!!! Place was empty, wouldn't seat us at a five top in back because we were three. While arguing with the manager, he drops the f bomb on my wife (not knowing I'm Italian and speak it). Sounds like the foods is good and people have had good service but not this time. I don't care how good the food is, these guys stupid jerks.
Mamma Teresa is one of my go-to spots in San Diego. I love this place for their delicious pasta/sauces, homey environment, and great selection of desserts. I admire restaurants who have a wide variety of plates, and they’re consistently great. Mamma Teresa is one of these rare, reliably tasty restaurants that you can turn to. //// Why I go: • Great, casual lunch spot • Solid place to enjoy a nice dinner • Alex (the owner) is great host; very welcoming, good-humored • Alex and Theresa (his wife and cook) will surprise you with new desserts/entrees • A nice treat in Poway/North County //// What I recommend: • Beef ossobucco • Chicken carbonara • I had a veal dish last week I enjoyed • Chianti • Pretty much anything in their dessert menu (caramel cheesecake, Nutella cheesecake, coffee tiramisu, fruit tiramisu, rum cake, pastiera napoletana, etc. etc.)
The food is so good, you wouldn't expect much looking at it from the outside but this is a must stop for Italian food lovers!
Very good food. I had the beef shank, some of the best I've ever had. Would go here again when in town.
