Came here for the gluten-free French toast in a waffle. They did not have that, so I got regular gf french toast. It was dense, heavy, and cinnamon raisin bread (not advertised as such) but good. I ate outside, and there were no condiments at my table, so my eggs were real plane. I also got a Mexican mocha that was good. The mug was ridiculously big, so I'd ask for it in a togo cup next time. They do have gf pancakes and waffles. It is a counter order type of place, but they do bring it to your table. Service was very fast and everyone was nice.
Wow! So delicious. Veggie Benedict. I’m so surprised I like it so much. Thought I’d miss my Canadian bacon. You order at counter but the cooks and staff are polite and efficient.
Very popular joint with the locals. My wife loves this place! However, very much in need of maintenance, cleaning and updating. Tables and chairs need attention. Order and pay at the counter with wide variety of self-serve coffees. First Belgian Waffle was undercooked. Silverware had baked on food. All coffee cups were chipped. Delivery service to your table was good. Great coffee!
Wonderful food and excellent coffee, help yourself with free refills. Pleasant to sit and enjoy leisurely breakfast and chat. Update: we had brunch there this morning. Very pleasant sitting outside under an umbrella. The egg and bacon croissant sandwich was amazing and the endless coffee with many types and flavors to choose from is terrific. Very popular and everyone looks happy enjoying their meals.

I was in the area and had a craving for biscuits and gravy. Haven’t been here in a while and thought I’d give their biscuits and gravy a try. They were really good! The biscuits were dense while also super fluffy, and there was a decent amount of gravy, but I do feel like the gravy could’ve used a tad more pepper. Other than that, it was delicious. The gravy was the perfect consistency. I also ordered a side of bacon and it was perfectly cooked, chewy with just the right amount of crispness. Plus the guy who took my order was very friendly and helpful, the food came out quickly, and prices were very reasonable. I’ll be back! Side note — it’s so weird to see the bakery display cabinet so empty. Not really sure why they decided to get rid of their bakery items, seeing as their name has the word “bakery” in it?
If you are looking for a great breakfast spot!!! Hands down la mesa bistro and bakery is the perfect place to go!!! Best French toast in town hands down!!! Also eggs Benedict came out perfectly!!the price was reasonable for the great taste and amount of food you were given.. will definitely be back!!!
Food was good, hearty. The poached egg on my hash benidict had solid yokes, which is just not how that dish is served. A bit salty for my tastes. The coffee selection is amazing and made up for those disappointments. The patio dining was particularly nice on this day. The bathroom was clean. The parking lot out front was full and there is no on street parking here, but there is parking down the hill out back.
