One of the finest delis in northern suburbs. Their sandwich menu is outstanding (and very large portions) but it is also tempting to get all other items they make including breads, soups, salads, etc. There is typically a long line on weekends so one needs to plan ahead for a visit.

OMG! The corned beef on an Onion roll is fire! I've never seen an Onion roll like the one they served me. The onions look like all pecan slivers and were slightly toasted, releasing a seductively sweet flavor. There was just the right amount of mustard. And when I asked for Swiss cheese, they layered a heaping amount of corned beef between two slices of my favorite frommage. I paired my sandwich with a can of Dr. Brown's Draft Style Root Beer and had a meal that truly made me happy. If you've never been to Kaufman's, you need to check it out. And if it was once an old-time favorite of yours, get out and rediscover it. There's sure to be something on the menu that will delight you.

Went here and had the New Jersey Bypass sandwich with some potato pancakes and it tasted great. Pancakes were thick & came with apple sauce & sour cream. You get a ton of deli meat. While I was there i picked up a couple of specialty mustards. They have a wide variety of artisanal mustards, it was hard to decide which to buy. The bakery was fantastic. A whole menu of small to large Challah bread, specialty loaves, breakfast loaves, and of course bagels made fresh daily. We got cinnamon bread and some bagels. The cinnamon bread goes fast, of you see it buy it. Along with a wide variety of pies, cookies, sweets, and treats, this bakery has it all. They also have some nice looking jams & an array of classic frozen soups. Would definitely come again and load up on goodies and grab some lunch. Workers were incredibly helpful and pleasant to chat with as well.

First time at Kaufman and I'd highly recommend it. Inside is a bit confusing at first, but the sandwiches make up for it. They're huge and the taste is very memorable. Definitely try it out!

OMG the aroma, please let me bottle this and take it home!!! A deli like I remember it. The salted meats, the salads, the bakery items, I could keep going. Sandwich was loaded with meat. Worth every penny. We could have split a sandwich. Great dinner! I had The Happy Hanukkah and hubby had The Skokie Firehouse Special. Fast, clean, great service. If they ask you do you want it the way it is on the menu, ask what are my options. They added lettuce, tomatoes, onions and other toppings.

Absolutely great food. Tons of options that are all delicious. I really recommend the Ruben with some potato salad.

Bagels were meh. Didn't taste fresh and not much flavor. I was so excited about the pinwheel cookies but they weren't as good as I had hoped. They had a bit of an odd taste to them. B&W cookies were okay. I liked the texture. Staff was nice and very patient with answering questions. The place was very busy, so maybe we caught them on an off day

Kaufman's is an experience. I had long heard rumors of a bagel shop with amazing and massive bagel sandwiches and I finally made a trip to determine if the reality met the myth. Proof: I was treated to a fresh, creamy, meaty, and layered Lox Bagel that was a rich feast in every bite. Every element, from the clean and smooth salmon, to the decadent cream cheese, was exquisite. Such a great experience inspired me to visit again and try their beautiful and delicious baked goods, and I was not disappointed by the superbly crafted apple pie and blueberry coffee cake. And beyond the deli and the bakery, I found the business to be fully stocked with a variety of unique and enticing products. Moreover, the staff is gregarious and helpful. Hence, Kaufman's is an experience worth it's legend.
