This is an absolute MUST whenever traveling through Butte, Montana! The best homemade pasties we have ever tasted! We order extra to take home and freeze. They are so delicious!!!

We heard great things about the pasties at Joe's Pasty Shop and had to try them. Delicious. The crust was perfect and not soggy. Filled with potatoes and meet and smothered in brown gravy.

A friend and were traveling to Virginia City, MT. We stopped in Butte and went to "Joe's Pasty Shop" to check it out and happy And glad we did. I tried the Pasta d it was spectacular. The shell was egg wash, and inside chunks of beef and potatoes with gravy all around the plate. It was quite good and reasonably priced for todays prices. Check it out Yourself :>)

Very authentic pasties (I was born in Butte and my mother used to make them for dinner at times.) That being said, they’re not a strong favorite of mine, as they can be on the dry side. The gravy is quite thick. I feel somewhat inspired to improve the recipe! The hamburger could be mixed with ground pork or sausage, the pastry should be flaky like good pie dough, and the veggies could be blanched, fried and seasoned before use.

Great to see the place open again. The new owner is keeping the old feel of the place and the original recipe of Joe's pasties we all have come to know and love. The staff are friendly and welcoming, with a smile on their face as you come and go. This is a great place to grab a fast and VERY tasty bite. I know you can order just one or multiple dozens as long as you can your order in a day or two. They are that good. You will regret not stopping in at Joe's when you pass through Butte.

The place was recommended by the guide at Mine Museum as one of the last places serving pasty. The pasty was really good and a great experience. The team was also super nice to us. Great place.

Delicious! Great lunch special!

This was one of the places recommended by the trolley tour driver and it did not disappoint. We had a pasty with gravy that they nicely packaged for us.
