Sometimes you're just craving a fluffy crispy Buttermilk pancake- and you really can't go wrong at IHOP! Even the combos offer pancakes as a side, so you're not locked into breakfast only, when that craving hits! Brandon was our waiter this afternoon, nice guy, quick, and good with the refills. Strawberry shake has real strawberries not just syrup! Love that they give you the mixing cup leftovers too, it's like getting 2 shakes for 1. I got the Cali Roasted Turkey Melt with pancakes, excellent crispy grilled multiple grain toast with actual sliced roasted turkey breast (not deli style), several slices of hickory-smoked bacon, a 4 cheese melted blend on the toast, cherry tomatoes that tadted sun dried but i believethey were roasted, about 1/2 a small Hass avocado, then a light glazing of mayo...made for a very tasty sandwich. And the pancakes!!!! Talk about hitting the spot! Super airy, fluffy, cooked perfectly with crisp outer and soft inner, no syrup needed -just a good helping of butter fully melted in and hello heaven! He got the chicken strips and waffles, always a good choice; juicy, crisp, nicely flavored and always good waffles.

I recently dined at IHOP and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The slow service and various mishaps overshadowed what could have been a pleasant meal. Upon arrival, the first red flag was the wait time to be seated. Despite the restaurant not being busy, it took over 10 minutes for us to be led to our table. To make matters worse, when we were finally taken to our table, it was still being cleaned. This left us standing awkwardly, feeling quite uncomfortable. The service didn't improve once we were seated. It took over 10 minutes for a server to come and take our drink orders. Considering how empty the restaurant was, this delay was perplexing. When our drinks finally arrived, my coffee cup had lipstick stains on it. It was disappointing to see such a glaring lack of attention to detail. Bringing the issue to the server's attention took another 10 minutes, during which time we were also in need of water refills. Waiting for the cup to be replaced and for our water glasses to be refilled was both frustrating and time-consuming. This delay significantly affected the overall flow of our meal. Moving on to the food itself, it was unfortunately underwhelming. While I wasn't expecting gourmet cuisine, the dishes were disappointingly bland. The lack of flavor was a letdown, especially considering that IHOP is known for its breakfast offerings. The food, though not terrible, failed to meet even modest expectations. In summary, my visit to this IHOP location was far from enjoyable. The slow service, the initial wait for a table, the issues with cleanliness and the lackluster food collectively created a disappointing experience. I hope that the restaurant can address these concerns and improve its overall service quality for future customers. As it stands, I cannot recommend this particular IHOP location based on my recent visit.

Decent food and service, but at $20-30 a person easily now, decent just doesn't cut it for me.

The food and service were great!

If you get Robin as a server you are in great shape. The problem is there’s another waitress I will not name who is lousy. No refills, you wait for your food and your check. Ask for Robin or one of the other guys working there..

Waited over 5 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was empty. A customer had to call the waitress and let her know that we were waiting. The waitress did not welcome us in and seemed very grumpy. The drinks were flat, so we paid for the drinks and walked out right away.

We have gone to this location many times for breakfast. Average service with average taste. We decided to go for breakfast at dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The wait was minimal, the server was attentive and the food was delicious!

Sat down 9:15 7/30 15 minutes before a waitress came. Another 15 minutes to get our coffee and I had to go to the order station to ask for it. Another 25 minutes for our breakfast to arrive. Both of us had cold food. That's 55 minutes to get a breakfast! Waiters seemed overworked so I tipped the girl anyway. NEVER AGAIN at Santee CA IHOP
