We went here because they were one of the only places open late night down town Detroit. The food was good. I had a Ruben . The home made pastrami was delicious, my friend had a BLT and said it was good also. One other friend had the burger and wasn’t happy with it . I tried it, it was just to over cooked Otherwise it was flavorful. The atmosphere could use a little lifting. I’ll definitely be coming back to try the biscuits and gravy.

Went for a quick breakfast. Not disappointed at all. I've been here in the afternoon too. Great drink menu. The hash browns were delicious like tater tots and the veggie Scramble was really good. Attentive, friendly service.

Wow! Lightning fast service, fun quirky decor and ambiance, and the food was delicious! Plenty of clearly labeled vegan options, with way more variety than I expected from a breakfast place. This place rocks!

Honest John’s is honestly a good spot to have a friendly dining experience. I sat at the bar and was delighted by the friendly service that the mixologist Steph/Stef provided. I went in to try the chicken and waffles…I’m going back again. The waffle was cooked perfectly, presented with a dusting of powdered sugar. I tried the waffle by itself and decided to only drizzle syrup on because the waffle was so moist. You can order chicken tenders or wing dings (not whole wings). I chose the wing dings and was happy with the first bite, then the second…it’s the seasoning that did it. Adding the hot honey which was served on the side was a plus to the chicken (but wasn’t needed). I ventured out and drizzled the hot honey on my waffle as well. Delicious! Honest John’s serves three adult slush cocktails that rank above your average frozen slush; the Fromo (frozen Mimosa), Frozen Miami Vice and Frozen Pimm’s Cup. I tried the FMA and the FPC; both were tasty, I ordered the Pimm’s. All of the staff that I encountered was very personable. Sports to watch and was playing, but not so loud that I couldn’t hold a conversation at my normal speaking level. The decor is appealing and simple, not cluttered. There’s plenty of parking space, in front and in the rear of the building. I’m sure I’ll return for the chicken and waffles again, as well as to try other menu items.

Honest Juan's ha$ held it down for a long time. Service industry watering hole and elevated bar food! I judge bars by how much graffiti the restrooms have. Ceiling to floor art! Lol brunch is a beast/ the burgers are amazing/fish n chips to french toast! The rueben and vegan versions are fire. Great random tap selection. Private parking in rear.. do it whenever in Cass corridor. I mean the district.

Phenomenal late night menu! They have one of the best fried chicken pitas around. Shredded lettuce, crispy chicken, gooey melted cheese, and delicious ranch. Maybe I was a few drinks in before ordering this but it was delish. The chicken and waffles is a classic as well. Crispy hot chicken and a buttery golden delicious waffle. They have good mixed drinks, beer on tap, and a friendly staff. Def worth a visit anytime of the day or night.

Our daughter goes to school down the street from the restaurant. She always asked if we could in. We decided to go for dinner. The is solid, and the staff was on point. We will definitely be back

Loved it! We were first-timers, and it did not disappoint. Our food was great, quickly seated, the atmosphere was nice and customer service was awesome! I had the Hot Corned Beef Eastsider with curly fries. Everything was great!! We will return.
