Went when it wasn't busy. Service was great. Appetizers: stuffed mushrooms - I enjoyed! Calamari - I enjoyed. Onion rings - eh. Wedge salad was good. For beef skewers, I was an extra $12 on top of the price of the salad. Pricey. Lobster was good. My meat was a bit bland and a bit overcooked to my liking, but it wasn't a big deal. I still ate it. The prime rib was very good. Sides were bland. Eh. I did have high expectations since I've heard so many positive reviews from people I know about it. It didn't really meet my expectations. Maybe will give it another try one in the next few months.
I’ve had a really good and enjoyable time the past couple night here in Shawnee. Great food, outstanding drinks, and good atmosphere with delightful music. I’ve enjoyed the wedge, the 1957 salad, the kebabs, the meatloaf, and the long islands. Good Times.
Easy to find with plenty of parking. The princess and I went out with some friends last night and they chose the Hereford house. We agreed that the last time we went there was many years ago and we should give them another try. I'm sure it will be many years before we go back. Nothing particularly wrong with our food, service or atmosphere just very basic and average. Given the prices I expect something special when the establishment is so proud with their pricing. I had the pear and goat cheese salad with the bacon wrapped shrimp and shared some of the princesses ribeye. The salad was delicious the shrimp was not fresh and smelled fishy. The ribeye was prepared perfectly and was quite tasty but very thin, small portions vs the large price. The hot bread was the best part! I would go to any number of better steak houses before I go back.
Literally 3 miles from my apartment and right off the highway. Not sure why I have slept on this phenomenal restaurant! 🤷🏾♂️. Hostess sat us at a 4 top table and kindly relocated us to an intimate booth upon our request. The Prime Rib hits the mark! 🎯. So savory. And i would be remiss if I didn't mention the raw horseradish sauce! Big Fan of Hereford House! 🙋🏾♂️
Got seated quickly, even arrived 15 min prior to reservation time. Server was nice and either had to many tables or just new. Hot fresh rolls and honey butter while waiting.Had the onion ring appetizer and the dipping sauce was great. Wife raved over the mashed potatoes and gravy, said they were excellent. Rest of our food arrived quickly and was very good.
I never write reviews- but this one was warranted. Left this place tonight more than unimpressed. For starters, sat at the bar. No exaggeration, did not even get greeted, let alone a drink for 15 minutes. Could’ve sat down a water and said we will be right with you…but nothing. Decided to stay and give it a shot, as they were busy, but nothing insane. I’ve worked as a bartender/server at higher end restaurants for 10+ years. Finally our food came out, no one checked in or asked how our meal was. Sat with nothing to drink while we ate. Slid my glass to the edge of the bar and ate. Finally, we flagged down the bartender and sent both of our sides back as my partners food, and mine were both cold. Not even lukewarm. Then, I was able to get another drink and our sides came back out after we were done with our entrees. Still after that, nobody ever checked back in to ask how our food was or if everything was okay. I understand being busy, but the service and attitude we got tonight was lousy and bad. Will make sure not to go spend $160 here on dinner again.
Mark (Manager) Justin our server. Both of you gentlemen made this experience amazing for my husband and I. Thank you for everything!
I got a bowl of "Steak Soup" plenty of potatoes, but as they used to say in the old commercial, " Where's the beef?" also got a small Matag salad, which was good. Drinks are good, as well as our server. I think you go to Herford House to get a steak. I just have too much meat at home in my freezer, so I prefer to try other things.
