Back from Isle Royale and a day by Lake Superior, I was feeling some fresh local food. By the lake in the quaint town of Grand Marais, this place looked promising. Parked on the street and stepped in just before dinner time. Fortunately, I did not have a wait - probably because I opted to sit outside and enjoy the view. It was a cold day so the hostess asked me I was sure (lol). I was dressed in layers and with some hot tea, I was fine! FYI, they provide warm blankets outside on the patio to get you extra cozy! The friendly server recommended the Walleye and it turned out to be a great choice! Tasted fresh and flavorful. Finished off with some crème brulée before resuming my roadtrip.

Located in the quaint harbor village of Grand Marais, Minnesota, on Lake Superior’s beautiful North Shore, the Harbor House Grille is a cozy neighborhood restaurant serving up the tastiest handcrafted comfort food. I had the Walleye Filet which is Canadian walleye lightly breaded in seasoned cornmeal & pan fried golden, served with lemon dill tartar and Minnesota wild rice. Absolutely delicious!!! A must go!!!

What a great little restaurant downtown Grand Marais. Super friendly people and the food is perfect. Great menu selection include fresh fish from the lake. Nice selection of craft beers from local breweries. Make sure you have a reservation because it fills up quickly.

Creative menu, great food. Stopped for lunch, had a wild rice, blueberry, pork and beef burger - very good! Patio seating. Dog friendly. Recommended.

Loved it...our Walleye was cooked beautifully. Wonderful desserts. Great view

I will give them 4 instead of 3 because times are hard. The food needs something that makes it stick out. It was very plain with little flavor. I had the blonde pizza and some of the herbs didn’t seem the freshest. The chicken tasted unseasoned and it was a very monotone cheese flavor. The crust was very good! I loved the wood fired crust! I did appreciate them seating us a half hour before closing though.

The service was good. They weren’t that great with kids and seemed annoyed with them. You could either sit inside in an old house that was redone for the restaurant. It didn’t have much room and seemed a little tight for us. The porch was very nice had a beautiful view of the lake. I had whitefish and it was very good, it was a decent amount for the price. My wife had ravioli bowl which only had 5 raviolis. The sauce didn’t match what it said on the menu it came out with a marinara and not a roasted red pepper pesto (for the price definitely not worth it). My daughters spaghetti had no sauce but she ate it. My son had a burger which he could not eat. I tried it and it was absolutely horrible. This place had a little bit of a fancy feeling about it. Fancy napkins with two forks. Really not my kind of style, but provided a beautiful view.

Food was excellent! I'm not normally much of a seafood person, but the whitefish was amazing (especially with the dill tartar sauce!). The vegetables were cooked to perfection (slightly crunchy). The wild rice was flavorful. The service was excellent and prompt. One of the best places in Grand Marquis to eat.
