Always love their food. I appreciate that I can choose my spice level because I can’t tolerate much spice 😁 Fun summer drinks too! Super fun atmosphere in the summer when you can sit outside. They have some fun outdoor games to play for younger kids or even adults while you’re waiting!

My husband and I love trying new places so we decided to go look for a restaurant that has delicious fried chicken. When we got to the location, there’s no parking for the establishment. So we had to park across the street and pay $8.36 for two hrs. That automatically adds into how much we’re spending on our meal as far as that goes. Service is great but the wait is long. We ordered the 4 piece hot chicken with 2 sides. I chose the Macaroni & Cheese + Mashed Potatoes with gravy. The chicken is a large portion. The flavor was good, spicy and hot BUT too greasy. The 2 sides weren’t too bad but would’ve like the Mac n cheese to be cheesier. I didn’t bother taking the rest of my leftover home. This is the greasiest fried chicken I’ve ever had and was truly disappointed. Won’t be coming again and our quest for the best chicken in Grand Rapids will continue. Adios

Where do I even begin? Walking into Hancock was a very welcoming experience. I love that as soon as you enter you're faced with a sign that tells you whether to wait to be seated or to seat yourself. I hate going places and being confused and stared at awkwardly not knowing what to do! Throughout my time there, everyone was so quick to the door to make sure guests were greeted and seated super fast. So great! After we were seated we checked out the menu and the waiter was SO great at explaining different options and spice levels on the menu. He really made our experience! The jalapeño cornbread was hands down the best cornbread I've ever had. We each got a fried chicken sandwich which FAR from disappointed! I actually took my bun off because the chicken itself carried so much flavor it didn't need anything accompanying it. My boyfriend got the hotter chicken sandwich and absolutely loved it. The fries here are THE BOMB. Best fries I have ever had! The house lemonade was perfect... great sour taste! I could go on and on about my amazing experience here. Best lunch I've had in a very long time. I highly recommend Hancock to anyone and everyone. If you're thinking of going- do it. You won't regret it.

Sat outside, had fun games to plays in the outdoor area. Good alcohol drink options and vegetarian options. Enjoyed the frozen samplers. Fun atmosphere and good food.

Love this place! On of my go-to’s in the neighborhood. This time I had a few of their fantastic (alcohol) slushies and hot chicken tenders with homemade bread & butter pickles. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu - the vegan satay sandwich is also wonderful.

Really good chicken. I got the tenders and a slushy flight. The chicken tenders come as 5 pieces with a side. I got 3 of those tenders at the hottest spice level and 2 at sweet with a side of coleslaw. The hottest seemed like a combo of chili oil and dry rub (they warn that it also contains pork products), and the sweet was honey butter. Both flavors of chicken tenders were fantastic. The side of coleslaw worked as a great way to balance the heat. I chose John Daly, you've my boy blue, cold fashioned, and Gin and Julius for the four slushies in my flight. I liked these most in the following order: John Daly, cold fashioned, you've my boy blue, and Gin and Julius. Overall I really enjoyed the food. Previously I've also had their chicken sandwich and that is one of the best in the city. I prefer the hottest for my chicken sandwich. The pickles they use and slaw makes the sandwich come together so well.

Great food and atmosphere at Hancock! We both had the hot chicken sandwich, which was very tasty. I appreciated that the spice was actually cooked into the chicken and not just an added sauce. We also had the crush puppies and jalapeño corn bread which were both delicious - highly recommend both. I enjoyed their strawberry cocktail, similar to a spiked strawberry lemonade, and it kept good flavor all the way to bottom. I also have to give kudos to a place that has both adult drinks and a place for kids to play. Lovely for parents, like myself, to have an enjoyable evening out.

Reeked of gentrification. The chicken wasn't crispy, or even fully breaded at that. Small tenders. The mac and cheese wasn't fresh and was mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price. The only positive was it was super quick and the service was decent.
